Xavier Bland of the VA Warriors put on a blue-collar efficiency clinic this weekend. Xavier was nearly flawless from three-point range, only missing three shots from there all weekend; a pure sniper. When he shot you almost knew without a doubt it was a bucket. He never took one bad or forced shot either. And in two games he went 100 percent from three. Xavier also only missed 1 two-point basket. In limited minutes, he averaged two three-point makes a game.
Xavier has an extremely high motor that runs non-stop. That energy and hustle fueled his team every game. His defense was special as he hounded offensive players at every turn, even off the pick. Xavier only got scored on one time all weekend. He left them no room to operate which resulted in two steals and four forced turnovers a game, not to mention countless deflections. Xavier also averaged three rebounds and three assists per game.
Xavier led his team to a 3-1 final record and lost to a very good NC Spartan team in a fierce battle till the closing minutes. Ended with a game-high of 15 points in Game 2 where he went 4/4 from three.
The truth is Xavier is just getting started. Remember his name because he is a true game changer in more ways than one; he has been a hidden gem from a small town in VA.
