For many years now, Carter Whitt has been the best pure point guard in North Carolina's Class of 2021. However, he's finally beginning to get appropriate national buzz and has picked up a handful of ACC offers during the current summer season. Whitt's Team Loaded squad also features major blow-up prospects like Josh Hall and Dean Reiber, who have each accumulated a ton of offers and serve as ideal running mates for the floor general. It doesn't seem that long ago when Whitt was playing up (as a seventh-grader) and leading his eighth-grade Team CP3 group to the championship game at our Summer Wrap-Up nearly three years ago. He was on the cusp of true dominance then and has taken the necessary steps to maintain his incredibly high level of play.

Since then, Whitt has gone through an interesting journey, both on and off the court. First, he joined Isaiah Todd as the only two non-freshmen in history to attend our Top 80 Camp. Whitt was at Trinity Academy of Raleigh and ultimately made the move to Leesville Road prior to his freshman season, which is also when he began to play for Team Loaded. After working through a tough summer season, he entered his freshman year and was asked to share the backcourt with another talented ball-dominant guard in Jalen Benjamin. They figured out how to make it work quite effectively and then Benjamin transferred to Meadow Creek in Georgia, which left Whitt, once again, as the man in charge. It worked out for both of them, as it allowed both guys to play more freely and showcase their respective ability to lead a team. Benjamin continued to do his thing and eventually committed to UAB. Meanwhile, Whitt returned to his original form and reminded folks across the country what makes him an incredibly gifted prospect. He had some growing pains on the EYBL with Boo Williams, but played up two entire levels and still showed that he belonged as the season progressed. Last season with Leesville Road, Whitt stood out as a leader by example and seemed ready to take on challenges whenever things went awry.

Fast-forward to now and Whitt is a clear, no-brainer for the highest level in college basketball. While his scoring and defensive abilities have both improved drastically over the years, his IQ, vision, and unbelievable playmaking skills is what will always separate him from similar prospects. He's an elite passer that can see the entire floor at all times. Whitt makes the correct, smartest possible read every single time he makes a decision with the ball in his hands. He makes everyone around him better simply with his consistent, unwavering approach to the game. The aforementioned development of his scoring prowess allows him to manage the game and break down opposing defenses, but then take advantage of any available scoring opportunities. For years now, folks have doubted Whitt, but he proves them wrong time and again.
