Today’s 5 to Know

6’5” 2019 Jayden Turner
New Light Disciples (NC) 17s

Turner is an explosive athlete, he can really get up and down he floor in transition, flying to the basket and finishing above the rim. Today he knocked down numerous threes and showed the ability to create in the half court. In his first game today he finished with 43 points, a tournament high.

6’1” 2019 Trent Stephney
EOTO Tennessee (TN) 17s

If Stephney proved anything today it is that you are not going to keep him out of the paint. The quick on quick point guard has good body control and overall made good decisions in the paint. He scored it well, knocked down a couple of mid-range jump shots and distributed well. Of course Stephney defended the ball, that is what he does.

6’3” 2019 Jett Fortuny
WCBA Blue (NC) 17s

Fortuny can flat out score the ball, he has been doing that for a couple of years now and has continued to do so here. Against all comers, at all levels, he gets buckets. In his first game today he finished with 23 points on 5 made 3s, in his second game he finished with 31 points on 9 made 3s. He is averaging 25 points for the event, scoring against everyone with all kinds of length or athleticism. It is what happens.

6’7” 2019 Tommy Kamared
Team Recruit (GA) 17s

This was our first viewing of Kamared and we walked away talking. He started the day off today with 24 points on 5 made 3s. Of course he showcased that when his feet are set, he can knock down a jump shot. He has good bounce and nice length around the basket as well. Very interesting player, one college coaches should look at.

6’2” 2020 Luke Stankavage
Hoop State Elite 2020

Stankavage is a classic scorer, he has an unbelievable feel for the game where his skill set and IQ are off the charts. He shoots the cover off the ball and is able to handle and create off the bounce. He consistently scores buckets, just as his team consistently wins. Walk on the floor and expect 20 from him. He already carries a Western Carolina offer, more should be coming
