Unsigned Senior Part 3

The Phenom High School Jamboree held Saturday, November 4th was a huge success. Over 33 teams participated in the one day event where teams played scrimmage games of two 20-minute halves with a running clock. The gym was packed with spectators and high number of college coaches. Today, we want to take a look at some of the top unsigned seniors that played and made major statements.

6'2 Tripp Greene (Greensboro Day)

Tripp Greene may be one of the most fundamentally sound players in the state. We're talking about a combo guard with a high basketball IQ that flourishes in the team system. Greene can score from all three levels and is so unselfish. As a matter of fact, he may be too unselfish at times. That being said, he's a low risk high return player. He makes winning plays and rarely makes mistakes on the court. Greene has excellent court vision and is a willing passer. On defense, he understands team defensive principles and will fit right in with Greensboro Day's team first approach and philosophy.

6'3 Jordan Roberson (High Point Christian)

Jordan Roberson can flat shoot the cover off the ball. He has good size and strength and plays to his strengths. He does have the ability to play as a secondary point guard. He does have good ball handling skills and is really good in the open court. His decision making is sharp and has the tendency to make the right read, pass and play. Roberson has the ability to play on the defensive end, but will need to play with more urgency in that capacity. That being said, shooters translate and Roberson can do that at a highly efficient rate. Roberson averaged 14.3 PPG in the three scrimmage games.

6'5 Tyler Nelson (Metrolina Christian)

Tyler Nelson is a very intriguing prospect. He has been highly successful on the travel ball circuit and was once again this past Saturday for Metrolina Christian. He has good length and basketball handles in the open court. Nelson has the ability to guard and play multiple positions especially with his length and athleticism. In addition, Nelson can score from various spots on the court and averaged 14.3 PPG in the three scrimmage games.

6'8 Justin Tene (Asheville Christian)

We have seen Justin Tene countless times and he continues to improve and get better each and every outing. While Tene is not an 'above the rim' player, he has a wide and strong frame that enables him to establish excellent low post position. He has passer friendly hands and is very patience with the ball. If he is not allowed to make a 'go to' move, he is a willing passer out of the post. Tene has excellent reach and wingspan and plays much bigger than his listed height of 6'8. He's a no brainer for D2 schools! In addition, Tene averaged 10 PPG in the three scrimmage games and collected countless rebounds.

6'0 Tai Giger (Carolina Day)

Tai Giger is a 'do it all' guard for Carolina Day. He can excel at either guard spots (PG or SG) and more than anything, plays with a certain sense of urgency and conviction. Giger has excellent ball handling skills in the open court and can also control tempo in the half court. His ability to hit perimeter shots with efficiency will make him a difficult player to guard and contain. Giger averaged 10.0 PPG and led his team in assists.

6'10 Elochukwu Eze (Asheville Christian)

Elochukwu Eze literally just started playing for Asheville Christian within the past two weeks. While he was a little rusty and not totally familiar and comfortable with his new teammates yet, it's easy to see the upside and potential of Eze. Sporting a strong frame and tremendous reach/wingspan, Eze will provide an inside presence with shot blocking capabilities. He does work hard for low post position and loves to dunk anything close to the rim.
