Every year, a new wave of talent begins to surface—young players who are just starting to make their mark but clearly have the tools to become national names in the near future. The Phenom Spotlight continues to shine a light on those rising stars who are turning heads early with their skill, upside, and competitive edge. From underclassmen already producing at a high level to newcomers ready to burst onto the scene, these are the players who could soon be dominating headlines, earning offers, and climbing the national ranks. We recently had a chance to watch several young prospects at the Pangos All-West Frosh/Soph Camp, providing several new names to watch out for. One of those names was 2029 6’10 Mamadou Issa Sow from CIA Bella Vista Prep, as he walked away with Co-MVP honors.
When watching all the talent on display, Issa Sow stood out immediately with his 6’10 frame and long frame. The big man was able to showcase a lot of intriguing tools in his game as well as potential left in his development. The big man did a great job in showing a nice skill set as a prospect of his size and position, not only finishing at the rim with power but also being comfortable from a variety of other levels. Issa Sow showed promise with his handles, being able to put the ball on the deck and attack the basket, comfortable at times in popping out along the perimeter, and also running the floor to get inside position in the paint as well as running in transition in general. His motor, fluidity, length, finishing ability, and potential from outside at times all impressed and showed promise of what he may ultimately be in the coming years.
Again, this is a young man that already stands at 6’10 and is just starting his freshman season, as he looks to be yet another big-time prospect coming through the Pangos camp early on and you will be hearing about down the road.
Check out just a few highlights below of what he was able to display.
