Player Recaps: Lincoln Charter v. University Heights

Lincoln Charter

6'0 '18 Kody Shubert: The point guard came out with a less than inspiring performance in the first half, but followed it up with a monster second half. He began shooting the ball with confidence and finishing crafty drives to the cup regularly. If the struggles had continued, Lincoln Charter might've been out of reach. Final stats: 22 points, 3 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals and a block

6'1 '19 Levontae Knox: Many would consider Knox the 'glue-guy' for this Lincoln Charter team, and this game only continued to support that claim. He just does a bit of everything on both ends of the floor, a jack-of-all-trades in many ways. Knox scored effectively and ran the floor well in transition while making his fair share of hustle plays. Final stats: 14 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists

University Heights

6'2 '17 Tray Hollowell: Backcourt mates Kyky Tandy and Tray Hollowell are a pair of big time scorers, but Hollowell was forced to take on a bigger role as Tandy sat much of the game. He gets it done on three levels whenever possible and burdened much of the scoring load for University Heights. His combination of athleticism and scoring polish makes him a handful to try and contain. Final stats: 16 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists.

6'1 '19 Drew McGowen: Since Hollowell stepped into a lead role because of Tandy's absence, someone needed to take on the secondary scoring role, and that was McGowen. His three-point shooting was a big factor for University Heights' offense, as he spaced the floor at all times. McGowen knocked down a trio of three-pointers, displayed some grit on defense and finished with 11 points.
