The Blues are coming off a rebuilding season just going (6-15), but Coach Whitmore is looking to gain momentum with a new roster in his second season at Asheville School. They lost 5 seniors which included their two leading scorers. They added some talented pieces to their roster & should be a team to watch in their conference for years to come.

Leon Nahar 6’9 F 2022

Shows a versatile game with the ability to play inside and out. Great length. He has a nice ark and rotation on his shot. Play great at the high post & can score in a variety of ways from that spot. Looks good at the wing with his ability to knock down shots from everywhere. Has a quick first step that helps him get to the basket for easy scoring opportunities. Look for him to make an immediate impact on this new & improved squad.

Cash Watkins 6’2 G 2022

Coming off a great season at Carolina Day, Cash was the starting point guard alongside USC-Salkehatchie guard Lee Langstaff. He knows how to use his body to an advantage when attacking the lane and finishing through contact. One of the stronger athletic guards that brings a team-first mentality and is always looking for better play rather than scoring. This dynamic two-sport athlete can also score with the best of them.

Kris Castro 6’3 G 2021

He is returning for his 4th year on varsity as the top returning scorer. He is known for his defense with his active hands & athleticism. He is a vocal player with leadership qualities. Very good at attacking in transition. He is bound for a great senior season.

Jaydon Aquino-Gumbs 6’0 G 2021

A very shifty and quick guard who plays downhill at all times. Knows how to penetrate the defense and set up his teammates for scoring opportunities. Has a nice looking 3 point shot with great form and touch on the ball. Look for him to put up big numbers on the offensive end this season.

Nick Klipstein 6’4 G 2021

When talking about a floor general you have to include Nick. He possesses all the skills of a team-first point guard who runs a team with confidence and control. Has added a great mid-range game to his arsenal and looks to knock down open shots from anywhere on the floor.

Philipp Kreile 7’0 C 2021

Look for Philipp to be one of the most improved players in his conference this season, coming off his 1st year at Asheville School. Has been working & looks like he’s toned down to help him runs the floor. He uses his massive frame to his advantage in the pick and roll. Smart player that boxes out & rebounds.

Kaden Holdbrook 6’2 G 2023

Only a sophomore but looking to make a great impact as a young guard. Shoots from all levels very well and knows when to shoot and when to pass. Consistently shows great playmaking skills. Controls the pace. Good handles & vision will make this kid fun to watch for the next 3 years.
