Reloaded, Ready for a Run At The NCHSAA 4A Title

These past few years have been one heck of a ride for the Millbrook High School basketball program. In the past four (4) years Millbrook has won four (4) conference championships, made it to the NCHSAA 4A Final 8 three (3) times, made it to the NCHSAA 4A Final Four twice, and finished once as the NCHSAA 4A State runner-up.

Just like after each of those runs, this team graduates a lot of playing time. However, just like with any powerhouse program they have a brand new set of players that are waiting in the wings, ready to carry on the recent tradition of success. This year’s team is no different, they lost 6’8” Rob Brown (school’s All-Time leading scorer) and 5’9” Chris Clemons (school’s All-Time single season scorer) to graduation. However, this year’s team has more than enough talent to make another run.

6’5” rising Senior Faison Brock is the leader of the team coming back. Brock plays the four (4) position for this team, but will be a wing at the next level, is a big time defender. His greatest asset is his hustle and ability to be in the right place. Rebounds, steals, blocks, deflections, his stats are thick. Not to mention Brock averaged 10 points per game and shot just under 40% from beyond the arc last season. Last year, as a junior starter, Brock averaged 8 points and 8 boards per game.

6’4 rising Senior Trejon Jacob (pictured above) made the prestigious NC Top 80 game this past year after his performance at the Spring NC Phenom 150 camp. Jacob is a lengthy left-handed wing that has a great feel for the game and soft touch with deep range. Last year, as the sixth man, he averaged 9.5 points and 4.5 boards per game

New to the team this year is 6’ rising Junior Jordan Whitfield. Whitfield has played the past three (3) years playing with Word of God, where he saw great success. Whitfield is a two time alum of the prestigious NC Top 80 and rated in the top 20 2017 players in the state of North Carolina.

Millbrook also carries 6’ rising senior John Burwell and 6’3 rising senior Rashad George. See them start their run in the NCHSAA 4A at Phenom Summer Jam June 20.
