Player: Titus Ivy
School: Cox Mill
Class: 2023
Height: 6’5
When a player faces a tough injury and misses an entire high school season, it can be hard to remind people of one’s potential. That is what 2023 Titus Ivy is facing but he isn’t taking long to give everyone a reminder of his game. Ivy is a 6’5 prospect that missed the entire season last year for Cox Mill, a big loss for the program with what he provides.
This summer, Phenom Hoops got a chance to see Ivy back on the court at the Catawba summer camp, as he was still working his way back to get back to 100 percent and trusting his body fully. Just a few months later at our recent open gym tour, it is clear that Ivy is back and ready to shine.
“Honestly, it feels great because it is like I fell behind since I missed a year and I’m looking forward to the upcoming year, so I can show my true potential. How explosive I am, my ability to create, and my ability to knock down open shots,” Ivy said.
Ivy certainly brings that explosion to the court, finishing strong at the rim, and giving everyone a glimpse of him being back to where he was before. But Ivy brings great length to the court, excels out in transition well, and competes on both ends of the court. He also has shown an improved ability to knock down shots as well. When you add his offensive skillset to his impact on the boards and defensively, Ivy brings a lot to the table. He has been productive this summer and putting in the work… now, he is ready to help lead Cox Mill this season and showcase his full potential as a player.
What Has Been Said:
“We’ve seen an array of talent take the floor at Cox Mill High School over the past few years, and even after graduating some of their more nationally recognized names, they still compete at a high level. This gives me a reason to feel optimistic about the potential development of 6’4 guard Titus Ivy, a current sophomore that spends his summers with the Charlotte Kings. Ivy assumes to point guard role for the Kings, and I can tell that it’s a position he’s still gaining comfort with. His frame is undeniable at the position, with him almost always being the tallest point guard on the floor. His shot form is solid and only in need of minor adjustments in my opinion. The next step in his development is showing explosive movements with the basketball, as well as more purposeful ball handling. With the addition of these factors, I see a promising future for Titus Ivy.” – Phenom Hoops in 2021
“Another lengthy wing prospect with a multifaceted game already in the early stages. Ivy can make the three ball, he’s shifty in space and had little issue splitting the defense. Ivy got smooth buckets, it never looks like he’s working too hard offensively, at the cup when Ivy is fully extended it was tough for defenders to contest. Ivy ran the floor extremely well and wisely filled lanes correctly, in return he was rewarded in transition.” – Phenom Hoops in 2019
