Player: Aden Taylor

Production and efficiency… Those are two words that could describe the junior guard from Princeton high school. Taylor has played extremely well this season in helping lead his team. After a sophomore season in which he averaged solid numbers of 10.5ppg, 6.5rpg, 5.8apg, and 3.7spg, the now 6’2 junior has only improved and elevated his play.

This season, Taylor is posting numbers of 19.0 points per game, 9.3 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 4.0 steals. When you look at his numbers though, you have to be impressed with the production and how efficient he has been this season. Taylor is shooting 55 percent from the floor overall, 50 percent from three, and has made his mark inside the arc. But, at his size, you just don’t see too many prospects that are that relentless on the boards, as he has recorded five double-doubles on the year, with his highest coming not long ago with a 17-point, 17-rebound performance.

We spoke to Taylor more about his game, in hopes of learning more:

Phenom: You have played really well this year. Wanted to ask you how you would best describe your game and how you like to operate on the court'
Taylor: I would describe myself as a pass-first point guard who can play defense and score when needed.

Phenom: Offensively, you can knock down shots from outside but do most of your damage inside the arc. What is your mindset when you’re looking to score'
Taylor: I try to get the easiest shot possible but if they leave me open, I will shoot.

Phenom: Listed at 6’2, you really fill up the stat sheet.  How do you pride yourself in other areas of the court'
Taylor: I mainly pride myself on defense and guarding the other team’s best player.  Because if I stop him, we have a better chance to win.

Phenom: What areas are you looking to work on more this season and summer'
Taylor: Ball handling and shooting off the dribble.
