Player: Ty Davis
Class: 2024
High School: Mountain Brook High School
AAU: Pro One
Recruitment:
Offers: Ole Miss, Indiana State, Lipscomb, Samford
Here is the latest in Davis’ recruitment, as the 6’5 point guard has been able to attract eyes from programs at multiple levels.
Phenom: How would you best describe your game on the court in your eyes'
Davis: In my opinion, I kind of have my own style. I play at a good pace, and I am very blessed; God has blessed me to be a 6’5 point guard. I shoot 46 percent from three and get to the basket well. I have a high IQ and have improved my lateral quickness in the past year to become a better defender. My biggest asset is my leadership ability and how I can help run the team.
Phenom: How has it been playing with Pro One this summer so far'
Davis: It has been a good experience. I honestly wasn’t sure how it would go but I have ended up leading the team in scoring and assists, playing a major role.
Phenom: What has it shown you playing up' Areas of focus with your game'
Davis: It has shown me that you have to be strong and mentally tough to play on the 17u level. I think my biggest area to focus on with my game is my mid-range pull-up game.
Phenom: Picked up some offers early on. Wanted to get your thoughts on them' (Indiana State, Lipscomb, and Samford)
Davis: They are all awesome and it is so early, I don’t have any preference and look forward to being recruited by each one.
Phenom: You just added a big offer from Ole Miss. Any thoughts on them and what did they have to say'
Davis: They said they were very impressed with my style of play and think I would fit in great at Ole Miss.
Phenom: What schools have been showing interest'
Davis: My biggest interests right now include Purdue, Stanford, Iowa, Missouri, and Loyola-Chicago.
Phenom: What have those schools been saying your way'
Davis: A lot of them want me to come on some unofficial visits but since they are still not able to call me, they call my dad who is my high school coach.
Phenom: Do you have any unofficial visits set up' Or schools you want to visit'
Davis: No dates set up yet, but they will take place in July and through the fall.
