Here at Phenom Hoops, we continue to highlight players that programs of all levels need to look out for. 2024 MJ Edwards is one of those players that should have eyes his way, as we dive more into his game. 2024 5’11 MJ Edwards is an absolute competitor on the court, as well as a catalyst for his team.
When you talk about his game, he is a player that is extremely quick but plays with tremendous balance. He has a nice blend of vision, scoring instincts, and ball-handling, which allows him to be an impact player in a variety of ways. But he also battles defensively, making those hustle plays needed.
Edwards simply plays within what the team needs; he gets others involved, creates well for himself and others, plays hard on both ends and is that ultimate team-first type of player that can also score in an array of ways as well.

“After watching him over the years, it’s easy to see the growth MJ Edwards has made as an overall prospect. He makes up for his lack of size with a quality blend of IQ, quickness, and balance between scoring and playmaking. Edwards touches the paint at a solid rate, where he’s able to finish or make the corresponding read to set up others. He’s very fast in the open floor and defends his position well at the point of attack. Edward should be heavily involved as a key piece.”
“MJ is really good at being the floor general on both ends. Calling offense and defense based on what he sees/feels. MJ can attack and create for others, let alone shoot the ball very well. MJ can turn the defender multiple times before stealing the ball and going to finish.”
