Head Coach Andre Gould has led his Winston Salem Prep program to four consecutive NCHSAA state finals appearances. Of those four consecutive appearances, he has won three of them. During his recent run, the 1A public school has sent players to college at Georgia Southern (2), Maryland Eastern Shore, and Wake Forest.

Most importantly for Gould his player go off to college. He sends 80% of his program’s graduates go on to attend some sort of high education program. That is a testament to the program, they instill a winning culture and enrich the player’s lives.

This year, Winston Salem Prep is young. They will only have one senior starter however, they will also have four starters back from the team that made it all the way to the state finals. On paper it shows to look for the run of Winston Salem Prep to continue.

The Big
On a team full of guards, 6’7” Junior Zaire Williams sticks out. He is a burly type, with a thick frame. However, Williams ball skills are every improving. He has great touch out to 18’ and his footwork in the paint is solid. He showed nice touch over his left shoulder. This is a big year for Williams, he should really get on a lot of schools’ radars.

The Smooth Scorer
With the big Williams in the paint, it will be the slender sophomore that leads the team in scoring. 6’1 sophomore Daivien Williamson is a smooth operator with the ball in his hands. He has a confident handle in the half court, but also carries deep range, and the ability to get loose in the mid-range. Williamson is the best player on the best team.

The Leader
While Williamson and Williams may get all the headlines this year (and rightfully so), it is 5’10” sophomore Justice Goodloe that makes this team click. He is the epitome of cool and calm on the court, and makes positive plays throughout the game on both ends. Not to mention Goodloe is an 94’ in your chest defender.

The Emerging
6’ Sophomore Davier Dixon split time between JV and Varsity last year, however his growth throughout the off season was so great that Gould will have a hard time keeping him off the court. Dixon, is a paint getting PG that oozes swag and confidence on the ball. Winston Salem Prep will run a lot of minutes with three guards on the floor, Dixon has emerged.
