Phenom May Madness brought together a competitive field of talent across multiple classes, and throughout the weekend, several players stepped up in big moments to help lead their teams. Whether it was scoring, playmaking, defense, or overall energy, these contributors made a strong impact when it mattered most.

2026 5’8 Stu Edwards (Save Sports)

Edwards delivered one of the most impressive scoring performances of the weekend, pouring in 31 points against Combine. The quick guard thrives with the ball in his hands, using his speed and handle to create separation and get into the paint. He knocked down key shots late, showed confidence pulling up over defenders, and consistently created opportunities for himself and others. A strong overall showing that should have JUCO programs paying attention.

2026 6’3 Terrance Badio (Elite 1)

Badio saved his best for the championship stage, bringing energy and production when it mattered most. He attacked the rim with authority, played with physicality, and set the tone defensively. His presence was felt on both ends, combining effort with impact in a complete performance.

2028 6’1 Kam Taylor (Grind Hoops)

Taylor was instrumental in Sunday’s win, making timely decisions and keeping the offense flowing. His ability to move without the ball, attack downhill, and capitalize on openings helped his team stay in rhythm. A poised guard who understands how to contribute to winning.

2027 6’5 RJ Mourning (TGS)

Mourning continues to show the value of length, athleticism, and motor. He was active defensively—altering shots, jumping passing lanes, and guarding multiple positions. Offensively, he found ways to score inside and in transition, showcasing the versatility that makes him a high-upside wing prospect.

2027 7’0 Modou Ndiaye (1 of 1)

Ndiaye’s size and mobility immediately stand out. He protected the rim effectively, ran the floor well, and made his presence known on second-chance opportunities. With his ability to impact the game defensively and finish around the basket, he remains a prospect to track closely moving forward.

2028 6’4 Riley Lail (Combine KB)

Lail put together another solid performance, continuing his strong spring play. He showed comfort attacking off the dribble, made plays in transition, and knocked down perimeter shots when given space. His combination of athleticism and skill makes him a consistent contributor.

2027 6’1 JJ Short (NC Spartans)

Short brought toughness and grit every time he stepped on the floor. He embraces contact, attacks the basket, and isn’t afraid to do the little things. Defensively, he set the tone with his competitiveness, while offensively he made smart reads and helped elevate his team’s overall play.

2026 Abdou Diop (Grassroots NC)

Diop showcased his scoring versatility in a big way. Using his size and strength, he attacked defenders and finished through contact while also proving to be a threat from beyond the arc. His ability to score at multiple levels makes him a difficult matchup.

2029 6’7 Aiden Thomas (Heat Elite)

Thomas made a strong impression with his relentless motor and athleticism. He dominated the glass on both ends, consistently outworking opponents and creating extra possessions. Around the basket, he finished with authority and showed flashes of floor spacing ability. His activity level and physical tools make him a highly intriguing long-term prospect.
