First Half
Carmel Christian started out using pressure and creating early turnovers but Jeff Davis started to figure out their offense and find their rhythm, attacking consistently from Ja’Queze Kirby and Ti King. Carmel though continued to turn up the pressure, eventually cutting into the early deficit to 22-19 at the end of the first quarter. It was a back and forth game for much of the second quarter but both team’s offenses couldn’t the same success as they did in the first, with Carmel Christian leading 34-30 at halftime.
Second Half
The second half was a different story, as Carmel Christian used a 20-4 third quarter to open up a 20-point lead vs. Jeff Davis. For Jeff, turnovers were a big issue along with shots not falling. Carmel’s defensive effort allowed them to get out and run, finishing multiple times around the rim with easy buckets.
The deficit was just too much in the end but Jeff Davis continued to battle. In the end though, Carmel Christian used a strong second half to secure a victory to start the Phenom Low Country Showcase at Porter Gaud High School.
