Caleb Kenney 6'5 205 2021 Douglas Freeman High School, Henrico VA

Caleb is an athletic marvel with an impressive physical profile. He has good quickness and agility, an explosive 36' vertical and a long frame highlighted by a 7'3' wingspan! Making him an even more impressive prospect is the versatility he offers on both ends of the floor. Offensively he can make a play off the bounce using a solid handle and the ability to drive hard and quick in either direction. Perhaps most effective driving left after a quick rip using rangy and decisive strides to the rim. He has a blow by burst and is quick to the rim where he punishes defenders with powerful dunks showing off his explosiveness but can also fight off contact and finish with crafty layups or pull up jumpers where he displays a fantastic touch. He really does a great job finishing in traffic and absorbing contact has great body control.

Caleb also uses a step-back jumper in addition to pull-ups in the lane where his 6'5 frame, massive wingspan, and high left-handed release makes his shot nearly impossible to block. He has fantastic footwork as a shot creator and demonstrates smooth mechanics. Caleb is also a threat beyond the arc more as a spot-up threat and his shot mechanics are sound. He can hit the corner three at a good rate but shows good consistency beyond the arc from all angles. Caleb is so good off the dribble creating for himself and for others. He has nimble feet and makes quick, strong decisions with the ball in his hands. In addition to being a capable passer, he is a dazzling finisher in traffic and has the ability to hit the one and two dribble pullup with very good consistency. On the defensive end, he is a game-changer! Caleb guards multiple positions effectively and has quick feet and sound mechanics defending the dribble. He shows great anticipation off the ball and quickness closing to the ball for steals.

Caleb covers so much ground and demonstrates a terrific feel defensively. He is a relentless rebounder using his powerful vertical jump and length to dominate on the glass but also possesses fantastic repeat jumping ability and a high motor. His soft hands and a nose for the ball help him here but his aggressiveness and competitiveness are on full display on the glass and overall defensively.

Although he is a shooting guard/wing forward type, Caleb is an imposing rim protector and a big-time shot blocker! He moves his feet exceptionally well defending the shooter and elevates quickly to block shots. He has great timing and quickness allowing him to block shots out of nowhere! He invites contact and shows a willingness to make hustle plays and battles for possessions. Caleb has D1 and D2 interest and recently received a Lees McRae offer. Look for his stock to climb during these next two seasons and with that more than a few D1 offers will no doubt come his way.
