What Was Recently Said (6/1/22): Although he was arguably Butler’s most productive all-around piece last season, McDuffie returns to assume even more responsibility as their focal point. He posted positive averages and percentages across the board, but the departure of his running mate, Ty Black, should provide him with even more chances to earn scholarships. Roughly twelve shots per game will be unaccounted for, but McDuffie seems more than equipped to take on the extra load. He’s a strong, athletic, fairly skilled wing prospect who thrives in the open floor and naturally makes plays on either end of the floor. McDuffie handles the ball and hits jumpers at a respectable rate. He should appeal to various types of programs.

What To Expect:

Similar to the previous entry, it’s easy to see a path where Zion McDuffie’s production really explodes during the upcoming season. He’s already led the team in three major statistical categories (points, steals, and blocks) while finishing second in rebounds. McDuffie should have no issue asserting himself as the clear, undisputed leader for the Bulldogs, especially given the overall age of this roster. He excels in the open floor, and can be found applying nonstop downhill pressure as a finisher. McDuffie is an explosive athlete who looks to dunk virtually anything within five feet, but can also finish below the rim or knock down jumpers at a solid rate. He works well without the ball, but can create his own shot as needed. McDuffie offers a physical presence defensively and rebounds effectively for his size/position. He should have a very productive upcoming season and, subsequently, warrant more attention from various types of college coaches going forward.
