There may not be a more picturesque high school campus in North Carolina than the Christ School. It is located in western North Carolina in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Coach Willard is in his first season and is looking to bring back the glory back to the traditional NCISAA 3A power.
6’5 Junior Marquis Godwin
Godwin is in his first season at Christ School and he solidified his status as an elite level shooter. He was knocking down 3-pointers off the catch and also off the dribble. We particularly like his overall basketball IQ and knowledge of the game. The cerebral Godwin impressed us with his court vision and passing especially off the dribble. Rarely, do you find Godwin putting the ball on the floor without a purpose. He’s an efficient shooter and his game translates at a very high level. He currently has offers from Richmond and ODU. Look for that list to grow!
6’9 Senior John Fulkerson
Fulkerson saw his stock explode over the summer. He has offers from Charlotte, Tennessee, Clemson and Georgia just to name a few. He’s a highly skilled face up four that has the ability to knock down the 15 foot jumper. He’s best in transition as he runs the floor extremely well and has nice body control. In the half court, he is very crafty around the basket. He has passer friendly hands and is a willing passer out of the post. Fulkerson has a tendency to be too unselfish at times. Defensively, he has excellent timing in blocking shots especially in weak side help position.
6’6 Junior Jacob Conerly
If you’re looking for a sleeper, Conerly may just be your guy. Conerly has freakish athletic ability and can jump out of the gym. He has an enormous wingspan and is quite active on both ends of the court. Not known for his perimeter shooting, however he was hitting the 3-point corner shot consistently. His game is still evolving and definitely a player to monitor for lower tier D1 schools.
