Another exciting weekend of basketball is quickly upon us, as we are set to enter the second live period of the 2023 season. This upcoming event will feature a slew of talented players and programs, many of which should appeal to college coaches. Although there are plenty of teams worth noting, Team Trezz Edwards certainly deserves to be mentioned as a group worth seeing. Given their success over the recent years, folks should expect them to compete with anyone while usually putting on a show for spectators. Although this roster doesn’t have a ton of size, David Ellis Jr. has proven himself capable of controlling the glass and protecting the paint defensively. Jamal Townsend would be a great late addition for the right program in need of a heady, scrappy guard with penetration instincts. The grouping of Randall King, Tyler Barnes, Nik Edwards, and CJ Alston should be huge leaders and among the most productive backcourt pieces on this roster. Guys like Zyquae Pittman, Christopher Rhodes, Stephen Howard, and Christian Bell bring a ton of depth to this group, and should each stand out as useful pieces that can assert themselves within the flow of the action. Add in the dynamic presence and overall leadership of Jordan Vick, and it’s easy to see why they’ve generated a ton of buzz as one of the top independent programs in North Carolina.
