Sophomore DJ Horne stepping up at Illinois State
It has been a while since hearing the name DJ Horne. We first got a chance to watch Horne in action way back in 2016 at Leesville Road, as he and Jalen Benjamin were teaming up on the court. We then got a chance to watch him in action at Cary High School and then at Trinity Christian, both places in which he thrived.

Moses Wright from Georgia Tech is one that many could say has surprised with his production and when you look back at where he was years ago in high school to where he is today, players around the country could easily learn something from him.

One can put 6’6 junior Jaylen Sims in that category early on at UNC-Wilmington. Sims has really earned his time and has picked up some valuable experience in his first two seasons at UNCW, playing in 32 games as a freshman and sophomore (64 total) and is now getting the opportunity to showcase just what he can do for the Seahawks this season.

Playing at Oak Hill, you are going to get the national attention, and last year, 2020 Cam Thomas was that dude. This young man was an absolute scoring machine at Oak Hill, averaging 31.5 points, six rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game, leaving as the program’s all-time leading scorer and posted nine 30-plus point games last year.

One player of interest that should be fun to watch and one to really keep an eye on is UVA-Wise 6’5 junior Cameron Whiteside, who came from Thomasville, North Carolina. Whiteside attended Thomasville high school and he showed that he could be a flat-out scorer on the floor and he has only continued that into his college years.
