Phenom’s Orlando Storylines
Dwayne Bacon Puts Himself in the Conversation
Even coming out of Florida State there was never any question Dwayne Bacon could play. He further proved that in Orlando by showing great poise wrapped in an unafraid demeanor. Bacon showed the ability to, not only score, but also defend the wing. He also drew comparisons to former Charlotte Hornet Kendell Gill in the meantime.
Hornets Summer League Head Coach was quoted as saying, “He has a very, very smooth game. I am intrigued by the way he handles the ball and the pace that he plays at.” He capped off a great week in Orlando with a 2017 Orlando Summer League high of 29 points, tied with Edrice Adebayo.
So far so good for Bacon with the Hornets

Bam Adebayo Proves to be a Steal at #14
It wasn’t a break out, Bam was a Top 10 prospect coming out of high school. But it is safe to say that in his one year at Kentucky, Bam sacrificed his personal gain for the greater good of the team. That is just one more quality that you cannot help but love about the big guy.
As for his time in Orlando, Bam got telling matchups going head to head against the likes of Jonathan Issac and TJ Leaf. Bam showcased a complete game and the upside to be a very good player for a very long time in the NBA. His footwork was crisp, his defense was high level and his overall motor far surpassed what anyone thought.
Even the week before the draft, people were talking about the possibility of Bam going in the second round. He is leaving Orlando after averaging 17.5 points, 8.3 boards and 2.3 blocks looking like Miami got a steal in taking him at #14 overall.
