Players to Watch
6’9” Senior Bruno Solomun
Solomon made a splash over the summer, as he first came to the US in June. The skilled power forward, has touch beyond the arc and explosion to finish above the rim in traffic. Over the summer, Solomun picked up offers from Delaware, Delaware St, Charlotte, and St Joseph’s. As more see him, expect that list to grow.
6’1” Sophomore Tripp Greene
Greene is a tough player, who does all the glue things that keep a team together. He defends with a purpose, he rebounds his position, and he makes shots. Watch for his recruitment to pick up as he is a player that high level winning teams need.
6’5” Senior Matty Edwards
The unsung hero, so to speak, Edwards is the straw that stirs this drink. Edwards is comfortable on the ball, in the half court set. He plays with hardnosed passion, has good size/length, and he makes shots with range. Edwards is a college guy and should have a choice of schools to decide from.

Head Coach Duane Lewis
MECKA 4A League
24-3 (11-3)
North Mecklenburg has the talent to win the coveted 4A NCHSAA State Championship. They play in a traditionally tough public school league, so will be battle tested by the time the play offs come around. With multiple players recruited at the mid to high major level, they certainly have the talent.
Players to Watch
6’3” Senior Davion Mintz (Creighton Commitment)
Mintz is a tough minded, downhill point guard. He plays with a chip on his shoulder and seems to produce every time on the court. Mintz committed to Creighton, of the Big East, choosing from over 20 offers.
6’6” Senior Jaylen McManus
McManus carries double figure offers, from the likes of Marshall, George Mason, UNCW, College of Charleston, and others. Rightfully so, McManus is a versatile talent. He is long and creates mismatches defending multiple positions. He makes shots out beyond the arc and plays above the rim in transition.
6’2” Senior Timmy Walker
Walker is a very good, quick-twitch athlete. He has the natural ability to be a good defender and excels in transition. Walker fits the up tempo style, and should shine during his senior season.

6’6” Sophomore Rechon Black
Black is a Top 15 player in the country. He carries offers from Wake Forest, Clemson, Virginia Tech, Tennessee and others. Black is a lengthy point guard, he has a great feel for the game making it easy for those around him. Defensively, his length can be used at multiple areas. Lots of upside with him, as he will continue to be recruited at the highest level.
6’2” Senior Ray Kowolski (Southeastern Missouri St Commit)
Kowolski parlayed a big summer into multiple division 1 offers. He ended up choosing Southeastern Missouri, after his visits. Kowolski is a sharp shooting wing, who has comfort creating plays for his team mates. With a lot of eyes on Black and the pressure of college off his shoulders, look for Kowolski to have a big senior year.

5’11” Junior Jalen Spicer
Spicer is a flashy, but fundamentally sound, point guard that carries the ball on a string. The lefty has early offers from Florida International and UNC Greensboro. He is a leader and a player that others naturally flock to, look for the offers to continue to grow.
6’4” Sophomore Tre Turner
Turner is rapidly trending up on recruiting charts and rankings lists. He has an early offer from Maryland Eastern Shore; that number will grow quickly. He has great bloodlines as the Charlotte Hornets starter PJ Hairston is his brother. If ever there was buy now stock, this is the kid it applies to.
6’5” Junior Reggie Davis
Davis is a highly explosive player, who uses his strength and tenacity for multiple momentum changing plays per game. Davis finishes above the rim in traffic as well as defends multiple areas on offense. D1s get to know this name, the mix tape guys sure will.

Storylines to Watch
Rechon Black Vs Davion Mintz
Black is a name most people know. After his showing at CP3 Live this summer, he was ranked as high as 15 nationally. He carries around 10 offers from schools around the ACC, SEC and other conferences. Mintz is committed to Creighton, of the Big East. When he committed he carries over 20 offers. Both players are supremely talented big guards, one in the now and one in the future.
Northwest Guilford Vs North Mecklenburg
This is a unique matchup to start the season off, as it could be the final two teams left when deciding who will represent the 4A West in the State finals. Both teams carry multiple D1 kids. Both teams can play a high pressure style defense and like to get out and run on offense. This game will be a battle now, and could be a battle (with heavy implications) later in the season.
Who Is Bruno Solomun'!
Solomun came into the country making a splash with his SEBL AAU program. Immediately he grabbed offers from St Joseph’s, Charlotte, Delaware, and Delaware St. He is a skilled power forward, whose touch extends past the 3 point arc and skill allows him to attack from the wing. He is also surprisingly athletic, as he will finish above the rim in traffic. Solomun will make a D1 program very happy.
The Bracket of State Champs
There are 3 potential state champions in this pool. North Mecklenburg and Northwest Guilford will strongly be in the mix for the 4A title, while Concord High School should be considered one of the favorites to win the 3A title. To say there is talent in this pool would be an understatement. The season starts here!
