The Phenom Grassroots TOC is this weekend in Rock Hill/Fort Mill, as it is the first LIVE Period with Phenom Hoops this season. The talent pool runs deep throughout and we want to give college coaches a leg up on who to watch and who will be in action. Here are a few players to check out for each team, presented by the head coach.
Recruiting Boost Black 17u
2023 6’2 CG Kobe Shewry can control the tempo of a game. Has great size and length to play on both ends of the court. Attacks downhill and is a great finisher. He is very capable of shooting from deep or knocking down the midrange. Don’t sleep on this player
2023 6’2 CG Saxon Orsini- straight out scorer, not a very explosive athlete but smooth and under control when it comes to change of speed and change of direction. Has awareness when defending on and off the ball. Has potential to play the PG position.
2023 6’7 F Sami Tanasic – Stretch 4 Very Skilled and productive. Outstanding footwork, can score in a variety of ways, soft touch around the basket. He is still growing but doesn’t have a set position, his motor is solid and attitude is great!
2024 6’5 F Ryan Lane. Great IQ for his age. He can create off the dribble and lead a fast break. Has a solid inside game and can take a defender of the dribble. Can score with his back to the basket, but prefers facing up. The potential is there for a versatile scorer and rebounder
