The Phenom Grassroots TOC is this weekend in Rock Hill/Fort Mill, as it is the first LIVE Period with Phenom Hoops this season. The talent pool runs deep throughout and we want to give college coaches a leg up on who to watch and who will be in action. Here are a few players to check out for each team, presented by the head coach.
Celtics South
Dashawn Byrd -5’4 Byrnes High School
Class of 2024
PG
Dashawn is one of the best floor generals you will see and lightning quick with the ball. He is a very patient PG that makes good decisions. He can make the mid range jump shot. Dashawn is a tenacious defensive player that irritates the opposing PG. He currently has a 3.8 GPA
Michael Mallory – 5’9 High Point Academy
Class of 2024
SG
Michael is a 2 year varsity starter at High Point Academy. He brings a relentless attitude to the game on offense and defense. He has a motor that will not stop until the horn sounds. He can get to the rack easily with his quick 1st step and can knock the jump shot from anywhere. He currently has a 3.8 GPA
Christian Gentry – 5’11 Dorman High School
Class of 2024
PG
Christian is an elite PG that is very crafty and can score from anywhere on the court. He is a very athletic player that can get rebounds and can shoot the ball very well. Christian is a very vocal leader on the floor. He currently has a 3.6 GPA
Kayzzin McDowell – 6’1 Byrnes High School
Class of 2024
SG
Kayzzin started in his 1st varsity season at Byrnes High School. Kayzzin is a relentless player on both sides of the ball. He is a guy that loves to come off screens and can make the jump shot from anywhere on the court. Kayzzin is a vocal leader on and off the floor making his teammates better.
Kanife Hill – 5’7 Byrnes High School
Class of 2024

Kanife is a quiet and smooth ball player. He is a PG that is shifty and takes care of the ball. Kanife is a great on the ball defender. He is a clutch shooter and will make plays when the game is on the line. Kanife currently has a 4.2 GPA.
