Phenom Hoops heads down to a familiar state in Florida, as we continue to spotlight players to look out for. One player that recently made some news was 2026 6’4 Amari Cummings from Bishop Snyder High School. This is a young man that is coming off a season in which he led the team in scoring at 10.3ppg, and has only continued to work on his game. After going 7-19 last season, he has high hopes of turning that around as well as showing more about his game. Phenom Hoops dove more into what he provides, and he not only talks about his game but also earning his first D1 offer.

Learning about his game:

“I would say that I excel in shooting the ball. I have a big range, and I’m best known for my shooting abilities and facilitating plays. This season, I would like to become more of a triple-threat type of player; I want to be able to play any position and play it well.”

Thoughts on upcoming high school season at Bishop John J. Snyder:

“We have a few new players that joined, and we work really well together. I’m excited for us to have a great season. We have been working out all summer and are ready when districts and hopefully make it to Lakeland this year.”

Earning his first offer from Kent State:

“I’m really excited to get my first D1 offer. Kent State has a great program and a great coaching staff. I really enjoyed speaking with the coaches at their camp.  I’m excited to see what the future holds.  They play really hard, and they are a very good defensive team.  They play really fast and love shooters.  They have also appeared in a lot of MAC Conference games as well as made it to March Madness several times.”
