Christ School Looked strong defensively
Coming into this game, we kind of knew what to expect with most of the players that Christ School had coming into the season. Zymicah Wilkins, Madden Collins, and others bring an interesting inside and out presence, but what we were really impressed about was the defensive impact Christ School brought to the court. They created havoc, constantly moving and being active, getting in passing lanes, and making it tough for opponents to find success on several occasions offensively.
NC State commit Zymicah Wilkins with a strong performance
Regarded already as one of the top prospects and possibly the best big in the class here for North Carolina, Wilkins came out strong and led the charge with 18 points while also being strong on the boards. Wilkins continues to flourish with his willingness to battle down in the paint, operate with his back to the basket, and get defenders off-balance with his footwork and touch around the basket. I also was impressed overall with how he moved, defended along the perimeter, and ran the floor. Impressive start from the big man.
American got a good one coming in 2025 Madden Collins
Again, Wilkins will get the attention and deservingly so. He was impressive and a force down in the paint, finishing with 18 points. But senior guard in 2025 Madden Collins was just as impressive with his overall impact on the court. He has great size and feel, running the offense, making smart decisions, and facilitating to teammates. Offensively though, he is strong in creating for himself and attacking the paint and comfortable in knocking down shots. However though, he also impressed with his defensive intensity, being strong on the ball, creating trouble for opponents to create, and allowing his defense to help turn into offense for his team.
College Programs Looking at LEC
It was a rough night at times for LEC but some players grabbed my attention. 2026 Lance Barnes continues to flourish at times on the court with his ability to get downhill, play with high energy, and show more about his game. 2026 6’8 Braylen Langley was another player that earned my attention with his fluidity, his size, and his athleticism, finishing multiple buckets at the rim plus the foul while also looking comfortable from the perimeter. 2025 Bryson Wheatfall, a 6’4 prospect, was another strong force, excelling when he got downhill, being a physical attacker, and finishing tough baskets. This is a team that offers several prospects that college programs should take a look at more.
