It was an eventful Tuesday night for Phenom Hoops and for several teams around the state of North Carolina. In the second game of the night, Victory Christian and Carmel Christian (Girls) matched up for an intriguing matchup. Victory Christian has some good talent and came out strong to make a statement in the first quarter, jumping out to a 14-3 first-quarter lead. They were led by Bethel Experigna, who scored early and often with 10 points. Carmel Christian started to find some rhythm offensively to stay within the 10-point mark by halftime, led by a couple of three’s from Emily King, while Caroline Cady and Olivia Boyce got in the action as well. However, they still found themselves down 24-14 at halftime.
Going into the third quarter, Victory Christian continued to step up their game on both sides, maintaining and slightly increasing their lead to 35-22. Offense struggled in the second half for Carmel, as they were only able to muster up 13 second-half points and found themselves in a large hole, to large to come out of. In the end, Victory Christian played strong on both sides and took home the 48-27 win in Rock Hill.
