This past season was tough in viewing and getting a chance to watch all the players around the state and a new name that caught my attention this past weekend was 2022 Moses Tufts for Team Trezz, so I had to dive more into his past.

Playing for South Central, he led the team to a 13-1 overall record and put up some impressive numbers, averaging 17.0 points, 9.5 rebounds, 1.7 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game.  Certainly, strong numbers that he hopes to carry into the summer with Team Trezz.  When you watch his game though, you can see that he plays with a physical attitude and is a capable scorer, whether it is battling around the paint at 6’4 or pulling up and rising over defenders.  You also have to like his defensive instincts, which allow him to make an impact on the court outside of his offensive game.

Here is what was said this past weekend about his game:

“Tufts played tough and he may have had one of the more impressive showings to help his team grind out a big win late in the day.  Whether it was pulling up from three or mid-range, create for himself off the dribble, or play a physical game and finish around the bucket, he showed it all.”

He also came through our Phenom 150 camp back in 2019, as Phenom had this to say with his evaluation at the time:

“Moving onto a player that sits at an intriguing crossroads between productivity and long-term potential, Moses Tufts. He’s a long, wiry wing/forward prospect with a lot of useful physical tools and a nice feel for the game. Tufts caused a lot of problems for opponents with his length and defensive instincts, which led to numerous turnovers and a lot of transition play. He’s a capable scorer, but did a great job of setting up teammates for easy baskets. Tufts moves extremely well without the ball and proved to be an impact rebounder throughout the day.”

Tufts was one of several players that grabbed our attention in Rock Hill over the weekend, as we will be having more spotlights on more prospects throughout the week.
