Each and every time Phenom Hoops gets to report or sees a commitment from a player we have seen over the years, it is always a fantastic day.  It is great to see players achieve their goal to play at the next level and it is such a great accomplishment for that player. Here is the latest commitment.

Player: KJ Younger
Class: 2025
Committed to: UNCG

What Has Been Said by Phenom Hoops:

“Younger brings a ton of production to the court with his physical frame, and is more than willing to mix it up, be a menace down in the paint, and bully through defenders offensively and defensively.  One can see his game is really coming together and he understands what he is and how he can be used.  Younger knows how to finish through defenders and get to the line, be strong and effective on the boards, and find ways to be versatile on the court.”

“I have said it before and will say it again… KJ Younger is a prospect that more colleges should be looking at but I’m also giving credit to schools like Queens, UNCG, and Samford who have already offered him.  Time after time, I hear question marks surrounding a recruits’ game, but I also sit and wonder why we don’t point out more of what he is strong at.  Younger may be the most physical prospect in the class and he simply knows how to attack, get downhill, score and finish through contact, and be assertive. He showed that last year and continues to show that today, as you simply don’t see many opponents stopping him.  And at the next level with others around him, Younger could be an excellent piece with his ability to defend multiple positions, his physicality to handle the college game, and his willingness to compete on the defensive end. And we can just start the narrative there, as he will only continue to get better in other areas. But Younger is who he is and is dominant in doing just that, so embrace that.  Which is why he could be a tremendous steal for a future program.”

“Younger is one that Phenom Hoops has been on more than anyone around the state, starting years ago when we watched him in limited playing time to where he is today.  It is clear that Younger is a D1 talent that simply produces.  It may not always be flashy, and it may look easy at times, but Younger just knows how to get things done on the court and he knows where he excels.  Having a strong, football-like frame allows him to bully opponents on the court simply but he also has added more to show he can be effective from a variety of levels.  Game after game last season he proved that he can be a force, as you just have to let him operate the way he does. Though he holds a few D1 offers already, that list should continue to grow in what we believe will be another huge season for the 6’4 prospect.”
