Omari Bolden, 6’ 2021 G with Team Winston 15u – Omari came off the bench in the one we saw and gave his team a nice spark with his ability to hit from deep. More of a catch and shoot kid at this time, he makes the most of his touches. He gets to his spots and is ready to go to work when the ball finds him. Quick release means only needs a small window to work in. Made the most of his touches and played within the frame of the offense.
Jaden Scott, 6’1 2021 G with TMP 15u – Tough kid at the guard position plays one way, all out. Not the most naturally gifted kid on the floor but plays harder than most which leads to production more often than not. Will do all the little things to help get his team an extra possession. Not sure of his ceiling but we are sure that he’s the type of kid that coaches want to work with at the HS level.
Nashir Houston, 6’4 2021 F with Team Winston – The only thing pretty about this kids game was the production he gave. He does not look smooth out on the floor, does not really have any go to moves, and does not make it look easy on the floor. What he does do is work and give effort. His size and strength does the rest from there. He’s the type of kid that can give you a double/double any given game or, foul out with minimal impact. In other words, the type of raw big we love to work with. Kid could go either way at this point, how it plays out is in his hands.
Cohen Gaskins, 6’3 2021 G with Team TMP 15u – Saw 2 really good performances from Cohen this morning. Consistent play is always what you want to see from a player and he gave us just that. Got stronger as the day went on and looked like the tighter the game got the more he wanted it and came to life. Kid was all over the floor, hit big shots from outside, got after it on D, and busted his tail on the glass. Type of kid you want to go to war with as a coach. Impressive showing so far from this hard hat player.
Jaden Watkins, 6’1 2021 G with NC Heat 15u – Type of player that can get on a roll and light the scoreboard up in a hurry. In his 2nd game of the day he got loose and dropped 15 plus on his opponent in the first half. Next thing we need to see though is consistency cause when he’s not in the zone you don’t realize he’s in the game. Has a good body type, requisite strength for the position, and can hit all the shots. Now, he just needs to put it all together on a regular basis.
