Thoughts on Commitment:

Obviously a big get for the program, as Oregon landed one of the premier talents in the country and a versatile scorer on the court. Ariza has such a strong blend of size and skill that can impress you with how he operates, especially from so many areas. He display comfort from the perimeter, knocking down shots over defenders with ease, taking smaller opponents of the dribble and getting to the rack, and just being a dynamic playmaker looking to make plays with the ball in his hands. Ariza’s fluidity as an athlete, his mindset to make plays, his ability to shoot, create, and pass are impressive, and he also impacts the game in other ways.

What Has Been Said from Phenom Hoops

“It didn’t take long when watching his game, as Ariza has plenty of factors in his game that make him such a high-level player. His blend of skill, offensive capabilities, size, and overall skill set sets him apart from so many at a young age, and Ariza backs it up each time he steps on the court. At 6’8, he has a high-level offensive game in how he operates, being a true three-level wing prospect who is comfortable in playing off the ball and knocking down shots from behind the arc or mid-range game, as well as his ability to be a dynamic playmaker with the ball in his hands. He is exceptional and so difficult to slow down with his length, his athleticism, and his ability to get where he wants when he wants. You can see that Ariza understands the game, and there shouldn’t be any surprise in that with him being the son of Trevor Ariza, who played in the NBA from 2004-2022. Ariza has an advanced feel for the game but is also just starting what he could be, which is why he continues to prove that he is a big-time talent in the class of 2026, and is worth all 5 stars he has earned today.”

“Ariza came in as one of the premier prospects at the event and he was able to give you those flashes that showed why he is being recruited by so many programs. At 6’8, Ariza can really showcase versatility on the court. Creating for himself, getting to his spots from all levels, running the floor and finishing at the rim, and being able to move/guard multiple positions make him so intriguing as a prospect.”

“The last night should certainly sound familiar, as freshman Tajh Ariza is the son of longtime NBA veteran Trevor Ariza.  The 6’6 prospect certainly brings an enticing skillset and size early on, as schools aren’t wasting any time in offering the young man; schools like USC, UCLA, and others have already extended offers his way. He continues to show his versatility and scoring power from so many levels early on.”
