It has been a fun offseason for Phenom Hoops, as we announced that we were heading out West with our recent Phenom Hoops West Fall League.  Not only is it allowing us to expand our coverage but also allowing us to learn new names around the country, as we look to expand our coverage on a national level.

This past weekend was Week 1 of the Phenom Hoops West Fall League, as we had a chance to learn several new names that are either already garnering attention or will be down the road. One of the teams that our scouts really enjoyed was Peak Basketball, bringing some highly intriguing talent to the courts.

One player that certainly caught our attention was 2030 6’6 Oba Adigun, a player who has a ton of potential and has a chance to really make a name for himself in the coming years.  Our very own Tyler Lewis had this to say about what he saw:

“2030 6’6 Oba Adigun (Peak Basketball) has tons of potential & upside. Tremendous skill set and frame for his class. Scored the ball from all 3 levels.”

A player part of the Class of 2030 at 6’6… certainly has to catch your attention. And then, when you start diving more into his game, potential, and watching how he operates, Adigun is one that should be quite appealing down the road if the trend continues with him.  This is a young man who wears a size 16 shoe; his father stands at 7 feet tall and has already proven to be a versatile player on the court.

When talking to Tyler more about his game and what he saw, you can see that there is a lot of excitement about his game. He is capable of operating from the perimeter, can comfortably knock down shots from multiple levels, showcases a good understanding of the game at a young age, and the potential is through the roof if he continues to develop and add more to his game.  Adigun did a nice job in getting to his spots and stretching the floor, being a threat from three, but also is able to use his size to attack off the bounce and score.

As Week 1 wrapped up, it was clear that Phenom Hoops West is already uncovering storylines and talent that will be worth following for years to come. Prospects like Adigun remind us why this platform is so important—not just for today’s competition, but for identifying the future of the game before everyone else catches on. With his size, skillset, and long-term upside, Adigun is a name you’ll want to remember. And this is only the beginning, as more players and programs will continue to emerge each weekend. Phenom Hoops is excited to keep shining a spotlight on the next wave of talent out West.
