6’2 ’28 Zahier Rox (Team KST)
Despite some ups and downs as a team, Rox consistently found ways to get involved in the action. He’s a very wiry guard with the ability to reliably get downhill and make plays for himself and others. Rox is a quality playmaker with the vision and instincts to set up others in scoring positions. However, he’s also a capable finisher and shooting threat along the perimeter. Rox displays nice activity on the glass and anticipates well to force turnovers defensively.
6’3 ’28 Cam Kernes (Young & Motivated)
Between his size, physicality, and versatile scoring ability, Kernes has a variety of appealing tools. He’s a very long, fiery wing who plays with a visible sense of toughness and aggression on both ends of the floor. Kernes is a quality shooter who can fill it up along the perimeter or attack closeouts and make plays off the bounce. He displays the ability to finish above the rim or through contact. Kernes competes with energy defensively and plays with a massive chip on his shoulder. He’s capable of being a valuable piece for this group.
6’0 ’29 Aiden Hopkins (Upward Stars Columbia)
Due to his blend of size, skill, and physical tools, Hopkins consistently found ways to stand out as a versatile two-way piece for this group. His strength and well-rounded skillset allow him to do a healthy amount of everything to impact a game. Hopkins rebounds very well for his size, defends multiple positions, and is capable of making plays with the ball in his hands offensively. He’s able to finish through contact and outwork opponents for extra possessions.
5’11 ’30 Chase McCleary (THRY)
It’s easy to appreciate the balanced approach this THRY squad displays, but it’s difficult to ignore all the ways McCleary made his presence felt as a focal point. He’s a skilled young guard with nice size and the ability to pose a scoring threat with or without the ball in his hands. McCleary appeared comfortable creating off the bounce and mixing it up off the bounce, both generating looks for himself and others, but is a viable option in cutting or spot-up situations. He also competes with energy defensively.
