Team 10

Coach: Matt Brown

#82: 5’11 ’26 Drew Johnson (The Burlington School)

Starting off, Drew Johnson is a 5-foot-11 prospect in the Class of 2026. After years of watching him shine at camp, it was no surprise to see Johnson perform at a high level. He’s a quick, crafty, polished guard with the ability to fill it up as a scorer from all levels. Johnson is a quality creator with the handle and vision to consistently generate clean looks for himself and others. Scrappy defender and quality rebounder for his size. Next in his development process is working to improve his transition defense, as it would make him a more complete player. Coach Brown on Johnson: “Drew is able to get downhill and make the correct read. Lethal pull-up jumper from midrange and can get to his spots off the bounce. Scores the ball at all three levels. High-motor pest on defense. Strong and very physical. Gets paint touches at a high volume. Tough kid, very coachable.” Johnson was quietly one of the most productive campers on display and should be poised for a notable senior season with The Burlington School.

#141: 6’2 ’27 Travien Williams (Hickory Ridge)

Next, Travien Williams is a 6-foot-2 prospect in the Class of 2027. Given his steady progression over the years, it’s safe to say that Williams is one of the top players in his class. He’s a very strong, intelligent guard whose pace, handle, and vision allow him to reliably dictate the action as a focal point. Williams scores the ball well from all levels, but is arguably at his best when getting downhill and applying pressure towards the rim. He’s a sharp passer who knows how to put his teammates in favorable scoring positions. Defensively, Williams has no issue containing opposing guards and forcing turnovers with his anticipation. He also rebounds his position really well. Next in his development process is working on getting stronger, as it would make him even more difficult for opponents to contain. Coach Brown on Williams: “Travien is a big, physical guard. Gets paint touches at will and can finish or make the right decision. Team player. Very coachable. Finishes well through contact.” Williams offered a productive leadership presence throughout camp and will remain a focal point at Hickory Ridge going forward.

#178: 6’6 ’26 Caleb Autry (Calvary Day)

Next, Caleb Autry is a 6-foot-6 prospect in the Class of 2026. Between his size, skill, and athleticism, he was able to cause matchup problems for various types of opponents. Autry scored the ball with impressive efficiency from all levels, showing the ability to penetrate, knock down jumpers, and shoot the ball off the dribble. He displayed solid vision and a willingness to make the right play with the ball in his hands. Autry secured rebounds at a high volume and toggled between multiple positions defensively. Next in his development process is working on his consistency as a shooter off the dribble, as it would make him a more dynamic scoring threat. Coach Brown on Autry: “Caleb is a big, physical guard. Coachable. Finishes around the rim. Gets to the paint at will. Can score on all three levels. Rebounds his position well. Uses his body to get to his spots. Knows his strengths and plays into them.” Autry enjoyed a quality showing at camp and will be a key piece for Calvary Day this season.

#189: 6’7 ’27 Cannon DeBerry (Queens Grant)

Next, Cannon DeBerry is a 6-foot-7 prospect in the Class of 2027. There were several impactful post players on display, and that certainly includes DeBerry and everything he provided on both ends of the floor. He’s a long, fluid, explosive big man with touch, toughness, and useful inside-out ability. DeBerry plays with constant energy and utilizes his physicality to overwhelm opponents around the basket. He rebounds the ball at a high volume and displays excellent timing and instincts as a rim-protector. Next in his development process is working on his ability to move without the ball, as it would allow him to find more scoring opportunities as a cutter. Coach Brown on DeBerry: “Cannon is a lefty big who can alter shots on the defensive side of the ball. Runs the floor well for a big. Terrific rim runner. Plays great in pick-and-roll actions to seal his man on rolls. Possesses a high motor and a lot of potential as he continues to grow into his body.” DeBerry stood out as a difference-maker throughout camp and should only continue to blossom for Queens Grant over the next two seasons.

#203: 6’4 ’27 Carter Abernathy (North Lincoln)

Next, Carter Abernathy is a 6-foot-4 prospect in the Class of 2027. Arguably the top spot-up threat on this team, he found a ton of success without requiring the ball in his hands. Abernathy is a smart, steady, well-rounded piece with great size and the ability to operate in various roles on the floor. He handles the ball and sees the floor well, but also knows how to move as a cutter and find open seams within the defense. Abernathy is a quality finisher who plays through contact on both ends of the floor. He defends with energy and toughness, and anticipates passing lanes to force turnovers. Next in his development process is working on his consistency as a shooter off the dribble, as it would make him a more dynamic scoring threat. Coach Brown on Abernathy: “Carter is a terrific catch-and-shoot guy from the corner, which is big in this era of basketball. Big, strong wing that is an excellent defender and adaptable offensive piece. Very coachable.” Abernathy excelled as a glue-guy during camp and should be a vital asset to North Lincoln going forward.

#204: 6’4 ’26 Dacen Petty (Christ School)

Next, Dacen Petty is a 6-foot-4 prospect in the Class of 2026. Given his ability to consistently do everything on the court, it’s easy to see all the ways Petty impacts a game. He’s a smart, unselfish, high-motor wing with a well-rounded skillset and enticing array of physical tools. Petty possesses a versatile offensive identity with the ability to initiate the offense, create as needed, and apply scoring pressure from all levels. He’s a capable playmaker with the handle and vision to make plays with the ball in his hands. Petty is capable of containing and switching across multiple positions defensively and forcing turnovers at a nice rate. He also rebounds well for his size. Next in his development process is working on getting quicker, as it would make him an even more dynamic athlete. Coach Brown on Petty: “Dacen is a great teammate with a high basketball IQ. Can score the ball at all three levels. Able to see the next play and make the correct reads using his excellent vision. Very coachable. Displays a great understanding of the game.” Petty enjoyed a strong showing at camp and looks poised for a big senior season with Christ School.

#220: 6’5 ’26 Ryder Strand (Heritage)

Finishing up, Ryder Strand is a 6-foot-5 prospect in the Class of 2026. He’s simply one of those players who can carve out value and production with any collection of teammates. Strand is a long, athletic, high-motor wing who does a terrific job of making plays within the flow of the action. Whether cutting, attacking off the bounce, or in transition, he does a great job of applying downhill pressure and finishing at the rim. He’s also a capable perimeter shooter. Strand is a quality defender and rebounder who consistently outworks opponents for extra opportunities. Next in his development process is working on the release time of his jumper, as it would make him a more consistent shooting threat. Coach Brown on Strand: “Ryder has an extremely high motor. Makes the right reads, can score from the outside, and has the size and length to cause a lot of mismatches on both the defensive and offensive end of the floor. Great teammate.” Strand did a lot of things to make his presence felt at camp and will be a focal point for Heritage during his upcoming senior season.
