Coach: Jamal Mitchell

#79: 5’11 ’28 Sherod McCormick (Davidson Day)

Starting off, Sherod McCormick is a 5-foot-11 prospect in the Class of 2028. There were a lot of notable guards in attendance, and that certainly includes McCormick. He’s a smart, refined floor general who offers excellent balance between playmaking and three-level scoring. McCormick dictates the action with pace and unselfishness. He utilizes his quickness, tight handle, and sharp vision to consistently generate clean looks for himself and others. McCormick touches the paint at a high volume and finishes well for his size. He defends the point of attack with energy and toughness. Next in his development process is working to improve his rebounding presence, as it would make him a more complete player. Coach Mitchell on McCormick: “Sherod is improving every time I see him. He should continue working hard, as I believe he really can be one of the best point guards in the country.” McCormick was among the top performers on display and should be a major addition for Davidson Day over the coming years.

#143: 6’2 ’28 Mack Jordan (Charlotte Catholic)

Next, Mack Jordan is a 6-foot-2 prospect in the Class of 2028. The value of a smart, steady floor general often gets overlooked by the masses, but Jordan is definitely a player worth noting. He dictates the action with poise, balance, and unselfishness. Jordan is a reliable ball-handler whose pace and craftiness allow him to consistently break down defenders and touch the paint. He scores the ball at a quality rate from all levels and looks to set up others whenever possible. Jordan is a capable rebounder and quality defender with the strength, positioning, and instincts to force turnovers. Next in his development process is working on his ability to move without the ball, as it would make him a more complete player. Coach Mitchell on Jordan: “Mack has great pace and really good upside. Continuing to work on his game and talking more on defense, and he’ll be a problem. Good luck this season.” Jordan found a lot of success throughout camp and will be a focal point for Charlotte Catholic over the foreseeable future.

#157: 6’3 ’28 Julius Hurley (Wesleyan Christian)

Next, Julius Hurley is a 6-foot-3 prospect in the Class of 2028. Regardless of context or setting, he’s always able to find ways to impact the game. Hurley is a smart, steady, well-rounded piece who can operate in various roles. He’s a capable creator, willing passer, and nice scorer from all levels. Hurley is an active rebounder and scrappy defender with the ability to switch across multiple positions. He moves well without the ball to find opportunities as a cutter and spot-up threat. Hurley does a great job of producing within the flow of the action. Next in his development process is working to get stronger, as it would make him a better finisher through contact. Coach Mitchell on Hurley: “Julius has a bright future. He should continue to work on being more aggressive, attacking the rim, and talking more on defense. Keep working hard. Good luck this season.” Hurley made his presence felt throughout camp and should be a useful piece for Wesleyan Christian this season.

#179: 6’6 ’28 Aiden Dalton (Forsyth Country Day)

Next, Aiden Dalton is a 6-foot-6 prospect in the Class of 2028. Given his current ability and array of tools, there’s obvious appeal surrounding Dalton. He’s a fluid athlete with excellent length, feel, and skillset for his size. Dalton is capable of causing matchup problems against several types of opponents. He’s able to draw out bigger opponents to the perimeter and utilize his size to overwhelm smaller players. Dalton displays a high motor, especially on the glass, and regularly outworks others for extra possessions. He blocks shots and moves his feet well defensively. Next in his development process is working on the use of his off-hand, as it would make him a more complete player. Coach Mitchell on Dalton: “Aiden has really good footwork and great touch around the rim. I think the midrange shot would really add value to his game. Keep playing hard! Good luck this season.” Dalton highlighted a lot of ability during camp and should be a focal point for Forsyth Country Day this season.

#199: 6’10 ’28 Xavier Hall (Davidson Day)

Next, Xavier Hall is a 6-foot-10 prospect in the Class of 2028. Arguably the most dominant player in his class, it was easy to see all the ways he overwhelmed opponents on both ends of the floor. Hall is an incredibly strong, physical big man with touch, mobility, and explosiveness. He scores the ball with legitimate ease around the basket, showing the ability to finish above or through opponents, score from the block, or space the floor as needed. Hall completely dominates the glass and tries to dunk everything. Add in his solid passing vision and timing as a shot-blocker, and it’s difficult to be anything other than impressed. Next in his development process is working to get quicker, as it would make him an even better defender. Coach Mitchell on Hall: “Xavier is a monster. He should continue to develop his footwork and work on his moves with his back to the basket. He can be one of the best big men in the country, if not the best.” Hall stood out as one of the best campers on display, earning a Top Performer award, and should only continue to warrant attention as a nationally regarded talent.

#205: 6’4 ’28 Darrell Howze Jr. (Southwest Guilford)

Next, Darrell Howze is a 6-foot-4 prospect in the Class of 2028. Quietly trending up as much as anyone in North Carolina, this stage really allowed him to shine. Howze is a long, athletic, versatile wing with the ability to consistently cause problems for opponents on both ends of the floor. His physicality and nonstop motor allow him to secure rebounds, force turnovers, and defend multiple positions. Howze showed the ability to score from all levels and apply pressure with or without the ball in his hands. He displayed feel, toughness, and the adaptability to produce in several different roles. Howze simply knows how to affect all facets of the game. Next in his development process is working on becoming a craftier ball-handler, as it would make him a more dynamic creator. Coach Mitchell on Howze: “Darrell has a really good game. He should continue to work on his ball-handling and catch-and-shoot threes. He’s great at getting to the rim and guarding the ball. Good luck this season.” Howze proved to be a major asset during camp and should have a breakout sophomore season for Southwest Guilford.

#206: 6’4 ’28 Rem Frasher (Durham Academy)

Finishing up, Rem Frasher is a 6-foot-4 prospect in the Class of 2028. Arguably the top shooting threat on this team, he found consistent success as a skilled, unselfish, low-maintenance option. Frasher shoots the ball extremely well from beyond the arc, but can also knock down midrange jumpers or attack closeouts and make smart reads. He’s willing to make the extra pass and fill in the gaps however possible. Frasher is a solid defender who utilizes his size and positioning to reliably contain his assignment. Next in his development process is working on getting stronger, as it would make him a more physically imposing defender. Coach Mitchell on Frasher: “Rem can really shoot it, especially on standstill threes. He can work on adding a pull-up and improving his ability to move without the ball. In general, being more aggressive would benefit his game. He can play! Good luck this season.” Frasher did a lot of things well during his time at camp and should be a focal point for Durham Academy over the coming years.
