There is a premium put on shot makers and there are few in North Carolina who are as natural pure scorers as Issac Suffren is. College coaches will want to sit along the baseline and watch his smooth nature during April.

Suffren showed up before his sophomore season at the 2015 Fall NC Phenom 150 camp. Our staff had not heard of Suffren before, but we quickly took notice of his scoring ability. Suffren was one of the younger players in the camp, however he finished Top 5 in per game average.

Through the 2 games we watched Suffren play early this year at Myers Park High School he averaged 18 points per game. Most of these points were predicated on his outside shooting ability, having 9 3s combined in the 2 games. During his performance at the North Carolina Top 80, Suffren displayed an attacking mode. At this camp, he did a lot of damage 15’ and in while still showing his smooth stroke and range.

With his team playing at Session 1 of 2016 Phenom’s Hoop State Challenge, Suffren was one of the top players in the event. Here, he averaged 18 per game. After his showing in this event, we wrote, “Suffren is smooth, it takes :30 second of watching him play to see that. If you have read Phenom Hoop Report over the last year, you have read multiple write ups about Suffren. He got buckets at the Fall NC Phenom 150, he got buckets at the 2016 NC Top 80, and he got buckets this weekend. Suffren has a sweet shot with great pace and handle in the half court. He gets into the mid-range and confidently elevates for shot after shot. Suffren will place himself on many college program’s radar this summer and may even earn his first of many offers. It will all start for him at the Spring Hoops Fest LIVE April 16-17 in Greensboro, NC.”

During his sophomore year at Myers Park High School, he was the team’s 3rd leading scorer. Through his 19 games played, Suffren averaged 10.4 points per game. Hopefully we have been able to display his ability to score.

Suffren has deep touch, but also the ability to create his own space. On his AAU team, he has shown the ability to handle the ball in the half court and lead his team from the lead guard position. With his long arms and sturdy frame, Suffren has the size and skill that will quickly translate as a combo guard.

We expect this April, Suffren will move into the recruiting spot light. He should pick up his first few offers, and have colleges become heavily invested in his recruitment. College Coaches see Suffren April 16-17 at Spring Hoops Fest LIVE in Greensboro.
