The Bears of New Garden Friends capped off the season the best way possible with a title last year. Finishing the season 20-10 overall, they were able to bring valuable guard play and impact the game on both sides of the floor, as they finished the season on a 10-game winning streak.
With a few key seniors now gone from last year’s team that helped secure a title, it now falls on the hands of the returning talent along with a few new names hoping to step up and provide a balanced attack this season.
2027 Kingston Clifton led the way last year in averaging around 15 points per game, and he looks ready to do it again, as the senior put on a strong showing throughout the team camp. He can do a little bit of everything on the court, constantly finding ways to make winning plays, create, play with pace, and showcase his ability to read the floor. He will be counted on in a big way again this season for his team.
2027 6’3 Valentine Abens, 2027 Curtis Russell, and others will be key senior players who will help to bring a balanced overall attack. With this group, they were able to flourish in their ability to bring strong guard play, be active on both sides, and attack in the open floor; all of which allowed them to be consistent playmakers on the court.
Then you will have other younger prospects who hope to rise to the occasion, such as 2029 Jaden Norfleet, 2030 Logan and Lincoln Kusan, and a few others, as they will help bring depth throughout the long season.
New Garden Friends may have lost some important pieces from last year’s championship team, but the Bears still have the talent, experience, and depth to remain a dangerous group this season. With Clifton leading the way and several seniors and young prospects ready to step into bigger roles, New Garden Friends has the pieces to once again be a team worth watching.
