Phenom Hoops continues to bring you new names that you will want to get to know sooner rather than later. We had a chance to view several incoming freshmen at the CP3 Rising Stars and we are bringing you another name to remember. 2026 6’10 Yeabsera Aklog is an intriguing young prospect with his size already and he was a standout out at the camp. He is a skilled long forward that moves well, has a good feel and touch, and shows that he can be a versatile prospect on the floor. His performance allowed him to earn Top 20 honors at the CP3 camp for his grade
We recently spoke to Aklog to learn more about his experience and his game.
Phenom: How has everything gone this summer for you with travel ball and working on your game'
Aklog: Well, I feel it was really good for me. I played up in the EYBL for the whole summer almost, so that was nice, and it got me way better. I feel like I’m a little underlooked but other than that, it was great for me.
Phenom: Who did you play with and thoughts on playing with them'
Aklog: I played with Seattle Rotary on the EYBL Circuit. We didn’t have much success, but it was a fun experience playing against some of the best players and teams in the country that are older.
Phenom: How would you best describe your game'
Aklog: I am skilled for someone my size. I feel like and I think that I also move pretty well and that I’m very versatile.
Phenom: Is there a player you like to model your game after'
Aklog: Not anyone in particular but I like Joel Embiid and Paolo Banchero.
Phenom: What is your excitement about playing this upcoming high school season'
Aklog: I’m playing with a lot of good players this year, so we have a really good chance to win state and I just hope that I can play a good role for my team.
Phenom: How was it competing at the CP3 camp' What was that experience like and earning those honors at the camp'
Aklog: It was a great experience; all the top players in the country were there and it was enjoyable and competitive. I feel like I did pretty well.
