Every year, there are new names and player to learn about here in the state of North Carolina, and this year is no different. Winston-Salem Christian has always brought a ton of talent to the court, and they brought in a new name for us to learn in 2028 6’2 Kenyon St. Louis, who comes from up north. St. Louis has shown that he is a proven floor general that is looking to lead the way this year for WS Christian, and college coaches are already seeing the talent he provides on the court. We caught up with the new face here in North Carolina, to learn more about his game, his past, and his recruitment early on.
Phenom: What is your excitement about playing at Winston-Salem Christian this upcoming season?
St. Louis: Very excited about it. I’ve been talking about going to the states for school since I was in fifth grade. It has been a dream, and WS is my home. The way that Coach Lowe talked to me and all, it was just real. I’m very excited to play with the players; we have high talent and we can hoop.
Phenom: How would you best describe your game?
St. Louis: I would best describe my game as calm. I like to operate with the ball in my hands. I’m very good at making reads, knowing when to get mine, and knowing when to make a play. I provide heart and effort. I provide what the team needs me to be.
Phenom: You played on the Canadian National Team, correct?
St. Louis: Correct.
Phenom: What was that experience like for you and what did it show you?
St. Louis: The experience was amazing. It showed me how much harder I have to work. There are really skilled players out there at my age, so my takeaway is to just get better at my craft every day.
Phenom: Recruitment has gone well for you. What have you been hearing from schools early on?
St. Louis: Just that they like how I play with pace and my feel for the game. They said I’m a good shooter and playmaker, and I have a lot of time to get better. But I’m really good for my age.
Phenom: What offers do you currently hold?
St. Louis: UNLV, High Point, Mississippi State, Arizona State, LIU, Morgan State, and Florida State.
Phenom: With those offers, does any school stand out in your eyes early on?
St. Louis: Florida State does. FSU has been growing a connection with me, and that is key for where I end up at the next level.
