For 14 years now the Phenom Hoop Report 150 has been one of the premier exposure events in the region. Thousands of players have made this event in that time with many using the experience to launch their recruitment. 180 hopeful prospects converged on Greensboro this weekend, here are some of the ones you need to know:

Nolan Brown, 5’6 2019 G at Franklinton HS – Nolan may not have the size you look for in an event like this but he has the quickness and strength to help him to standout. He was one of his teams top scorers in game one despite giving up size to every spot on the floor. He has quick handles and a low game to him making it hard to rip him from the ball. He shot the ball well at the drill stations and handled himself well at the other ones as well. Will see plays a bit later than you like at times and size is a factor but in this format he showed the ability to hold his own.

Asa White, 6’6 2022 F at East Garner MS – Young, long, and talented with a very bright future in front of him. His long arms get to everything it seems on both ends of the floor. He swatted several shots in this event showing timing that you normally won’t see in a player as young as he is. He is going to fill out and get stronger as his body matures. Once that happens we will see his stock start to soar. Already a name scouts know, it won’t be long until college coaches know it too.

Caleb Cudak, 6’3 2019 G at Falls Lake Academy – In an event built to showcase offense Caleb stood out with his D and smart play out on the floor. Either on the ball or in help, he was consistently where he needed to be and made the plays he needed to make. The type of defender willing to sacrifice his body on one end for a charge then leave skin on the floor on the other trying to get his team the ball back. On offense he made the most of his opportunities showing an efficient game but he needed to interject himself more on this end of the floor as the ball was not finding him out on the wing (does have a smooth jumper however). Some may knock him for what he isn’t (top athlete/volume scorer), but you will appreciate him for what he will give you on the floor (leadership and glue guy game).

Landon Sutton, 6’ 2020 G at High Point Christian – Landon was a load coming down hill in this one with the ball in his hands. When he was in transition or able to go off the bounce he was hard to stop. He has a quick spin move and changes speed/direction with ease making him a hard matchup when playing with pace. He is a young but talented and has the type of game that suggests he is going to score on anyone. Got to the rim with ease here.

Jalen O’Neal, 6’4 2019 W at Concord HS – Jalen is one of those kids that even at 6’4 plays bigger than he is. Long arms and legs suggests he has more room to grow which will only help his stock. On the floor, he is very effective on both ends of the floor. He can go clean the glass as needed or finish at the rim in transition with authority. He finishes hard in traffic and is a better passer in and out of the post than you’d expect. Love the growth we have seen here in this kid.
