No. 1 5’8 ’17 Jimmie Sanders III (Neuse Charter)
Jimmy is the ultimate PG on the court. He has good handles and excellent court vision and is a passer friendly guard. He had a great camp and his ability to drive the ball and create opportunities for his teammates was impressive. Jimmie sports an outstanding attitude and accepts coaching and constructive feedback. Jimmie has nice shooting mechanics and has good range out to the 3-point line, but his strongest attribute is his ball handling and passing ability. Simply put, Jimmie is terrific with the ball in his hands.
No. 23 6’2 ’17 Thomas Allen (Garner HS)
Thomas is a very explosive player with a high motor. He plays with a lot of energy. He has a beautiful blend of athleticism and skill set along with a high basketball IQ. Known primarily as a scoring guard, we were impressed with his willingness to share the ball and play as a team. Thomas has great range on his jump shot and can knock down the 3-ball with consistency and efficiency. Thomas has excellent quickness and footwork and could be a tremendous on ball defender. More importantly, Thomas showcased an all around skill set and announced to many he is more than just a shooter. It was a very strong all around performance!
No. 32 6’2 ’19 Myles Pierre (Carmel Christian)
It was great day for Myles! He has a terrific attitude and made hustle plays in all three games. He truly understands the principles of team play and is so unselfish. Myles has the ability to score from all three levels. He proved he can score in a “catch and shoot” situation and also has the ability to shoot off the dribble. He has solid shooting mechanics and range out to the 3-point line. More importantly, we were impressed with his transition and half court defense. He has the ability to be a strong defender and can make an impact on both ends of the court.
No. 35 5’10 ’17 Quay Kimble (Shelby)
Quay demonstrated a great attitude and gave maximum effort the entire day. He has solid handles and is so effective at changes speeds. Quay showcased good range on his jump shot and can dribble penetrates and creates shots for his teammates. We were impressed with his ability to dribble either direction and used his off hand as much as his dominant hand. In addition, he made an impact with his tenacious “on ball” defensive pressure and his ability to see the court with his full court vision.
No. 40 6’3 ’18 Isaac Suffren (Myers Park)
Isaac displayed a great all around feel for the game. He demonstrated an excellent attitude and gave maximum effort on both ends of the court. He has a long list of intangibles that often don’t show up in the box score that will be ingredients for future success. Offensively, Isaac is best at using his strong frame in attacking the basket. We were impressed with his ability to finish consistently through contact. In addition, he does have solid shooting mechanics and can step out and shoot with range. He is a strong defender and active rebounder to round out his game.
No. 60 6’5 ’18 Maverick LaRue (West Forsyth)
Maverick is a terrific player who understands how to play. He has a great attitude, work ethic, basketball IQ and the desire to play to his fullest. Maverick understanding allows him to be at the right play on the court at all times and it is attitude and effort that sets him apart from his peers. He has the ability to stretch the defense and can shoot with tremendous range. While known mostly as a shooting guard, Maverick impressed us with his court vision and court sense to help facilitate for his teammates. In addition, Maverick is an above average on ball defender but understands angles and team defensive principles.
No. 63 6’5 ’18 John Newman (Greensboro Day School)
Simply put, John Newman has a world of talent, upside and potential. He is such an explosive athlete and can defend and rebound at a high level. In our opinion, he is definitely one of the top “on ball” defenders in the state regardless of class. John is a solid shooter within the 3-point line, but is as comfortable in creating shots for his teammates as himself. We were impressed with his dribble penetration and ability to make the “kick out” pass to his open teammates throughout the day. John can finish with the best of them and will always provide the You Tube highlight dunk of the day. He’s a terrific teammate and truly understands how to be impressive in a team structure.
No. 80 6’6 ’17 Logan Vosburg (Orange HS)
Logan is a hard worker with a tremendous work ethic. There are not many players in the state that will outwork or outhustle Logan. He is solid in all areas of the game and flourishes in team play. He can stretch the floor with this 3-point range, but is such a high percentage shooter within 17 feet and in. Logan has an uncanny ability to finish around the rim and is so crafty with his moves. While he may not be the most athletic, he is highly skilled and utilizes the shot and pump fake effectively that allows him to get past defenders. There he can finish at the rim or kick out to open teammates with his good court vision and passing ability. Logan is an above average defender, but understands team defensive principles.
No. 84 6’8 ’18 Jalin Thorne (Westover0
Jalin is a good young post prospect. He has long arms and is very athletic and is so fluid in running the floor in transition. He has a high basketball IQ especially for his size/position and demonstrated a winning attitude throughout the day. More importantly, he really understands how to play as a team and understands his role in the paint. He works hard to establish low postposition. He has a great motor and can become special in transition. Jalin has solid back to the basket moves, but we were most impressed with super hard work ethic on the defensive end of the court. He’s an active rebounder and one to put in your SIM CARD.
No. 94 6’8 Milos Supica (Freedom Christian)
Milos had a solid all around day. His attitude and work ethic made him a fun player to watch. He has a high basketball IQ and is willing to play as a team. He is a tough back to the basket player but also showed be can face up and drive the ball to the basket. He has the ability to finish with contact and is a solid defensive player with good help side defensive understanding. Milos is constantly involved with rebounding battles and has good anticipation.
