After this past weekend’s Battle at the Rock, Jaden Seymour further showed that he has star potential. In fact he carries so much star potential Director of Player Analysis for Phenom Hoops Jeff Bendel wrote, “Personally, I think he’s minimally vaulted himself into top-75 status, based on the other prospects nationally ranked within this range.”

This should come as no surprise as the 6’8″ junior already carries offers from the likes of NC State and Virginia Tech. His game fits today’s modern style with the length and activity on defense. He is able to defend multiple positions while moving his feet on the perimeter, using his length in the passing lanes and switching on to 4s and 5s.

Offensively, Seymour is a grab and go candidate on every play. He is able to initiate offense off the break or in the half court. He is consistently knocking down his 3-point shot and has always been able to get downhill from multiple positions on the floor (wing, high post, elbow extended, etc…).

After his performance at Phenom’s North Carolina Top 80, Phenom Hoops’ National Analyst Jamie Shaw wrote about a then offer-less Jaden Seymour, “Seymour is everything you look for as a high major wing. He is long and runs the floor very well. He knocked down multiple threes off the catch and showed the ability to finish above the rim both in transition and in traffic. Still unknown, don’t let the fact others don’t know him prohibit you from knowing him. He has High Major, Top 100 written all over him and his recruitment should follow suit.”

He has the Power 5 offers that Top 75 players have it is just his national ranking has to follow suit. 247 Sports has him at #229. Rivals.com is a little closer with him having him in their Top 150, at #150. Without a doubt, that will change. His recruitment will pick up even more and it would be silly if his raking did come more appropriately, soon.

Be sure you come out to Phenom’s Capital City Jam on December 15 at Ben Lippen School in Columbia, SC to see Seymour. College Coaches will be ahead of the curve and hoops fans will be treated to a double/double with numerous plays that will get you out of your seat.
