No. 18 4’10 ’23 Deshaw Brown II of Cameron, NC

For such a young player, Brown demonstrated an excellent attitude and put in maximum effort. In addition, he played with maturity and poise. He didn’t get rattled and even with his youth and size, he continued to compete. Brown will only get better as he pursues to put in work in his overall skill development.

No. 22 5’0 ’21 Dariahon Hammonds of Charlotte, NC

Coach Moseley stated it best, “Hammonds is a baller from the word go.” He was sensational in transition as well as in the half court. Even with his size, Hammonds was crafty and skillful around the rim and finished surprisingly well. He plays with a high motor and is an intense competitor on both ends of the court. With increased size which will come in due time, Hammonds has a nice combination of intangibles that will make him a really good player.

No. 42 5’3 ’20 Alex Balcerek of Indian Trail, NC

Balcerek is a player that gets around the rim and makes his presence known. Despite his size, he is an aggressive rebounder and has excellent court vision. We were impressed with his court vision and ability to get his teammates involved. In addition, Balcerek has a nice understanding of the game and a high basketball IQ. He plays the game the correct way and will be a solid player at the high school level.

No 78 5’4 Adam Brazil of Mooresville, NC

Coach Moseley had a great observation that deserves repeating. “ Brazil may not be a player that walks on the court and automatically grabs your attention, but once the game is live, he becomes bigger than the court itself.” He simply does a little bit of everything well. He can shoot the cover off the ball from the perimeter. He is rebounding, making steals, getting assists and making jumpers. We were impressed with his high motor and outstanding attitude that was demonstrated throughout the day. In addition, he has excellent mechanics on his jumper and could develop into a “lights out” shooter.

No. 109 5’7 ’20 Justin Brown of Huntersville, NC

The first things that “pop out” in watching Brown are his intense passion exhibited on the court. He simply has a nose for the ball and has great anticipation whether it is securing rebounds or loose balls. Defensively, he applies constant “on ball” pressure and has a knack of making the right hustle play one after another. His hustle is contagious and one any coach would envy to have. The next step in his development is to match his skill set to his unbelievable passion displayed on the court.

No. 126 5’8 ’21 Omarion Farrar of Raleigh, NC

Coach Moseley stated, “everything you need on the court, Farrar stepped and did.” He was pretty aggressive defensively (both “on ball” and “team defense”) getting loose balls, rebounding, and getting steals. He was all over the court. Offensively, he was a beast attacking the rim and constantly finished with authority. He used his speed and athleticism to his advantage and showcased a complimentary skill set. Only a seventh grader, Farrar shows a lot of promise and one will we continue to monitor over the next two years of middle school.

No. 133 5’8 ’20 Tarez Jackson of Charlotte

From the opening tip of the game, one thing is for certain. Tarez Jackson will go all out from start to finish. There’s no middle ground in his performance. Jackson knows one speed and that’s a full throttle approach. Defense is his calling card and has a chance to make an immediate impact on that side of the court. Offensively, Jackson has good ball handling and shooting skills. The next step in his development is to increase his court vision.

No. 154 5’10 A. Saul Diaz of Columbia, SC

Diaz plays the game the way it is suppose to be played with the needed skills to get the job done. He handles the ball exceptional well and knocked down shots on a consistent basis. More than anything, Diaz was active on both ends of the court. He’s an aggressive rebounder and runs the floor well in transition. He showcased great versatility throughout the day and has the ability to guard multiple positions, which makes him a highly valuable player.

No. 165 5’11 ’21 Christopher Ford of Charlotte, NC

Coach Moseley stated, “Christopher Ford is a beast! Once the ball is tipped off, he plays hard and relentless.” He can score from all three levels on the court. He has good athleticism accompanied with an equally impressive skill set. Ford has the “it” factor and can make things happen on both ends of the court. He’s an impact player plain and simple. You love young players what possesses all the intangibles to be a highly successful player.

No. 188 6’2 ’20 CJ Huntley of Huntersville, NC

Huntley has good size for his age/grade. He finishes well around the rim and can step out and hit the midrange jumper. We were impressed that he could score effectively on the interior using either hand. His footwork in the paint is excellent and has soft hands that secure rebounds with authority and catch entry passes in the post. Whether he is playing offense or defense, Huntley plays the game with effort, energy and desire. He’s definitely a name to monitor over the season. We love his upside and potential.
