The Live Period is coming up with Phenom Hoops, as we hit the road and travel to Raleigh (NC) for the Phenom G3 LIVE, giving college coaches of all levels a chance to check out talent. Though there will be plenty of names to watch, NC Heels Elite will be a team that college coaches will want to check out as they offer some intriguing prospects to watch.  Check out a few of the players we have talked about in the past.

2026 6’11 Talla Mbaye

“Mbaye was one of the biggest prospects on the court on Day 1 and one that we are eager to see throughout the weekend. The 6’10 big man was a strong presence in route to a 23-point showing for his team. He gave you flashes of touch and a physical presence down in the post, was a big presence on the glass, and made an impression as a defensive presence as well. Again, he will be one to look at more throughout the weekend.”

“In terms of pure intrigue, Talla Mbaye might’ve been the most enticing long-term prospect on display. He’s already an extremely long, fluid athlete with great size and useful instincts on both ends of the floor. Mbaye displays touch and power as an interior finisher. He blocks/alters shots at a quality rate and runs the floor well in transition. Mbaye capitalizes on his opportunities within the flow of the action but truly doesn’t require touches to make an impact. Given his overall appeal, it’ll be interesting to follow him over the next calendar year.”

2025 Jaylen Lampkins

“Lampkins, who attends Greater Destiny Prep, was an absolute show time after time.  With the game that I viewed, the 6’0 guard was filling it up and playing with a ton of confidence.  He shot the ball extremely well, especially from behind the arc as he had multiple games in which he knocked down several 3-pointers.  But what is unique about his game is his blend of athleticism/bounce, his speed, and his ability to score from multiple levels. Though he had his outside shooting going, he was also to get by defenders off the bounce and really flourish with his athleticism/bounce.”

“2025 Jaylen Lamkins was another guard that grabbed my attention.  The sophomore point guard was strong in leading the charge, pushing in transition, and seeing the floor. But he also did a great job in getting paint touches, creating off the dribble for himself, and also passing and repositioning for his three-point shot.”

2025 6’6 Zy’mari Perry

“Perry, a 6’5 prospect also from Greater Destiny Prep, was a force every time he stepped on the court.  With his size, his frame, mobility, and skillset, he was able to make plays in a variety of areas and be a consistent option on the floor.  Finishing down in the paint, stepping out for his mid-range game, being assertive on the glass, and running the floor in transition, Perry was able to be effective in a variety of manners on the floor.”

“2025 Zy’Mari Perry is at the top of the list, as the sophomore prospect fit the definition of production on the court.  Perry was a consistent offensive threat throughout the event, scoring in a variety of ways, being a presence in the paint, showing touch, but also being able to operate on so many levels.  He also did a tremendous job in being strong on the boards, presenting a strong motor, and being a presence both offensively and defensively.”
