FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Columbia, SC (Dec 28-30) ''Major event organizer Phenom Hoop Report is bringing a nationally recognized holiday basketball tournament to Ben Lippen School in Columbia, South Carolina. Phenom's Palmetto Winter Showcase will take place'December 28-30'and will feature 6 teams from South Carolina against 6 of the top teams from North Carolina and Virginia.

Last year Phenom Hoops held their Winter Classic in Wilmington, NC and it was one of the most talked about events throughout the region. In partnering with Ben Lippen, the City of Columbia was able to bring this national level event to the Midlands area. With the visibility and success of the Bojangles Bash and the Chick-Fil-A Classic, bringing an event with the profile of Phenom's Palmetto Winter Classic to Columbia only made sense for all parties.

This is a national level event with the eyes of college coaches and media across the country glued to the results. Rightfully so, Phenom's Palmetto Winter Classic has earned that recognition with alums of this young event who are committed to and/or playing at the likes of South Carolina, Clemson, Duke, North Carolina, Southern California, Kentucky, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh, Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, Missouri and many others.

Not only are elite players in this event, but great teams will be playing as well. The competition should be stiff as last season Miller School (VISSA 2A), Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach (SCISA 2A) and Blythewood (SCHSL 5A) each made it to their division's state championship game. Village Christian (NCISAA 2A) won their second consecutive state championship.
