AAU Coach Evaluation:

I’ve coached Tahjay the last two seasons of AAU basketball and he’s improved both years. He’s very long and athletic, plays above the rim, shoots the ball well from mid-range, beyond the arc & can guard three positions. I expect Tahjay to have a breakout season for Woodside this year. – Coach Rodney Barry, Boo Williams AAU

Coach Frank says:

Tahjay is a matchup nightmare given his combination of size, athleticism and strength coupled with a sound perimeter skill set. He’s a smooth shooting wing with excellent range and shot consistency, has very good mobility and court awareness. Tahjay can get to the basket with his dribble, absorb contact and finish with very good regularity and can hit the mid range jumper. He can create his own shot but can also capitalize on his solid rebounding skills and get points on the offensive glass as well. Out of necessity he is employed as a 3/4 type where he can play the perimeter and the post where he is an active rebounder and post defender but Tahjay is a more than capable wing as well. In addition to a disciplined shooting stroke and ability to create offense with his dribble, he has very good footwork, a long wingspan and lateral mobility. He is able to defend either guard position, he communicates and does a great job containing the dribble. Tahjay is a starter on a team that features a pair of highly recruited guards who are getting MM to HM interest and two other DII or LM prospects and is a consistent a reliable player. Look for him to establish himself next year as a potential D1 prospect as well when he has the opportunity to display his versatility as the go to guy for Woodside High School. In the meantime he is a more than capable exciting prospect that should draw attention from college coaches this year!
