We had heard Drinnon’s name some over the past Summer however, this was the first time we have been able to see him play. To say Drinnon put on a show would not be giving full service to the entirety of the show he actually gave.

Drinnon is a sturdy lead guard. He shoots the ball very well and he has a tight handle when pressured in the half court. His performance was so good that some along press row mentioned his game was similar to Melo Trimble. Now we realize that Drinnon is a sophomore and Melo is an early entry NBA draft pick however, the games do have some similarities.

Drinnon is a sturdy lead guard. He shoots the ball very well and he has a tight handle when pressured in the half court. He is not a dead-eye shooter, but shoots it well enough that you have to account for it. He is also a very good passer, with great vision off the bounce. In fact he averaged seven assists per game, and his team left a few assists per game on the table due to faulty hands and mis-fired point blank shots.

Drinnon’s calling card for the event was his 3-level scoring ability he made seven (7) three’s per game, averaged 30 points per game, and shot 48% from the field. He played in the half court with a great pace and he played in the open court with a knowledge of angles.

Drinnon carries early offers from the likes of Florida, Missouri, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, VCU and others. He is a player who should be firmly planted on Top 50 rankings and a player schools across the country should be recruiting.

Welcome to the scene.
