AAU Coach Evaluation:
Savvy guard with extremely high basketball IQ. Kendall attacks the basket well and is very effective off the screen and roll. Kendall has an excellent pull-up jumper but can stretch the defense with the trey ball. He is great facilitator with great court vision who has the ability to make his teammates better and is a great leader on the floor. He is a willing defender who has the ability to
block a shot as well as take the charge. Kendall’s potential on the next level is unlimited. – Coach James Pope, Academy Prep Basketball
Coach Frank says:
Kendall Bynum is a high IQ and fundamentally sound point guard who plays beyond his years. Watching him play against much older competition in various team camps and against many of the area’s top teams, the freshman guard proved he is already a player to be reckoned with. He played under control, smart, confident and made great decisions. Undeterred by ball pressure Bynum demonstrated the ability to run a team, execute an offense and make teammates better. He is an excellent ball handler who can create and attack the basket with either hand. He sees the floor with a wide angle lens and makes excellent passes. He is a controlled yet aggressive guard, quick to attack gaps and seams in the defense with a pass first mentality. Bynum can get into the lane and finish around the basket and is a threat to score in the mid range and from deep. He takes good shots and is a high percentage shot maker but is perhaps most dangerous and very consistent off the bounce negotiating deeper into the defense to get the best shot for his team. He has excellent footwork defensively and makes other guards have to react to his pressure. Basketball trainer Mike Banks say’s “Bynum can shoot it with the best of them but his court vision is what makes him such a threat”. Kendall Bynum is an incoming freshman but make no mistake, he has already proven he will contribute immediately on the varsity level!
