HS Coach Evaluation:
Marcus is quickly developing into a tenacious defender. He has good speed, quick hands, quick feet, and good anticipation. He plays with a lot of heart. Offensively he is best at the 2, slashing and beating his opponents off the dribble. His tools also include a nice mid range pull up and decent range for 3. He has a great deal of upside and will be looking to make his mark amidst other talented guards. Although he has much to prove he is a great kid and his play seems unique at times almost demonstrating fearlessness. – Coach Richard Pullen, Head Coach Smithfield High School

Coach Frank says:
Marcus is an exciting talent with tremendous upside. He is lanky, a long 5’11 and extremely athletic. His long wingspan and quickness coupled with elite athleticism allows him to impact both ends of the floor, a slashing, paint getting playmaker on one end and a tenacious, high motor defender on the other. Marcus is shifty and can negotiate traffic and finish at the rim or pull up for a silky smooth mid range jumper which he hits at an impressively high percentage. He can hit the deep ball but works his offensive magic at the rim to about 15 feet out using an impressive array of separation moves and his blow by quickness. Marcus has excellent footwork, elusive, a slasher. He is ball quick and fundamentally advanced for a sophomore. Defensively he is active and scrappy, quick reads and quick to the ball. He is a very good rebounding guard, much of that due to his motor and competitiveness. I’m excited about the Smithfield High School guard and expect he will be an impact player as early as this season! Put him on your watch list!
