Every game is another opportunity for him to absolutely dominate. Swinney operates as the clear leader and focal point for the Patriots. His tight handle, crafty creation instincts, and incredible polish allow him to fill it up in several ways. Swinney scores the ball at a seemingly nonstop rate while actively mixing it up from all levels. He’s a willing passer and useful playmaker. Swinney is also a scrappy defender and capable rebounder for his size/position.”
“In terms of his actual identity, Swinney is a quick, crafty lead guard with the ability to (obviously) fill it up in a healthy variety of ways. He utilizes his tight handle, precise footwork, and sharp change of direction to generate clean looks off the dribble. Swinney displays a smart, unselfish approach to the game, but will actively seize scoring opportunities whenever available. He’s a reliable three-point shooter and lethal midrange threat who can consistently hit jumpers off the catch or bounce. Swinney knows how to stretch the defense to create driving lanes and easy scoring chances for his teammates. He’s a willing passer and useful playmaker in the two-man action. Swinney is also a pesky on-ball defender who forces turnovers and regularly scores in transition. Given everything he’s already accomplished at Freedom Christian, it wouldn’t be a shock to see him be among the most productive players in the state. College coaches should certainly be laying groundwork with Swinney.”
